got a pic for it?
Anyone have any ideas for how to wire up the power button on the Aspire One? I can access the button, but its connected to the motherboard by a ribbon cable. Seems pretty impossible to solder into it and run an external wire. Any ideas? To turn the computer back on from sleep, I just need to tap a key. It might just be easier to solder into a key. Would that be easier? Any help would be great! Thanks!!

you can use something like this if your tablet works like mine which auto wakes up when power is applied. A ciggarette lighter adapter / charger with a on off switch. I saw one like this at a local wal-mart before, it should be easy enough to hack into and put whatever switch you on on it.
That would be nice, but I can't get the netbook to wake on anything but a keyboard press. Its very frustrating. Once power is cut (car turned off)... all the USB ports lose their ability to wake up the computer. The only thing that I can find that will wake the computer is by pressing a key.
I don't have an aspire but my Eeepc has the same button. One of the legs will power it on with a ground signal (on the eeepc). I just soldered a wire to that leg and touch it to ground with my start up controller.
Side note, I found that when the lid on the laptop was closed the button no longer worked. I had to remove the lid switch magnet to get it to think the lid was open all of the time. The LCD stays lit but now the button works.

Not very good picture but you can see the black wire goes to the bottom left leg of the switch.
