I think they need to be embedded in the mp3s themselves. You just need an mp3 tag editor to add artwork to the files.
yeah, so..
I've figured out the basics of the AMP Front End, however, i dont know how to incorporate album artwork into the app.
can anyone give me a hand?

i inputted the artwork directly into itunes myself, however, nothing shows up in AMP.
is there something i am doing wrong?
simply adding the artwork in itunes probably isn't embedding them. you can test if it does by moving your songs to a new library on a different user. If they import with artwork it is embedded if not there's your problem

Sometimes when I import my iTunes library into AMP, it doesn't bring over all of my album art and sometimes not even all of my song. My general rule of thumb is to import twice, back to back. That usually works for me, so try importing, then immediately importing again.

Im having the same problem. i tried embedding the art work by downloading a tag editor and still nothing. then i tried the same songs in neon boom box and the album art was there. could leopard be the problem?
neon boombox no longer reads embedded artwork at all instead relying entirely on leopards quicklook framework. so you are partially correct ;-)

any update to this question? I've used a mp3 editor, but they still do not show up in amp
I haven't used AMP in a long time but as of the last time I used it you had to:
- Add the art to the music file (ID3 tags). iTunes used to do this before they added the iTMS art feature, don't know if it still does.
- Quit AMP if it is running.
- Nuke the ~/Application Support/AMP directory (IIRC there is a data directory in there which is really all you need to delete).
- Launch AMP and reimport your Music.
The problem with AMP and artwork (again as of the last time I used it) was pulled out of the files during the import and he did his own thing with it (mainly for the Album view).
As mentioned above, some times the import doesn't work and you have to go through the import (I suggest nuking the directory again) all over again.

Thanks iamgnat, I tried what you posted, deleting the data directory, however the album art still does not show. For the record, I used Fixtunes to add the art, is there something better? Are many people still using this FE, if not, what is the best "front row" like FE?
