Like anything else, you focus where your talents lie. You should have some basic knowledge about other aspects, but it's not critical to know the details. For example, I mostly do backend programming as my talents are in improving process flow and problem resolution. I know UI (better than most I by a lot of the GUIs out there

), but I avoid it whenever possible because I don't like it. I understand the concepts of graphics, but if I can light up a specific pixel i'm proud of myself

Aychamo, you said something about being able to center it on a 800x600 screen but the visuals be full screen etc.. will that be impletemented soon?

one other thing...how do you play an audio cd through AMP? Is it possible?

Hi Aychamo

You prob want some sort of an AI/Expert System. Maybe an expert system shell to develop something like this ? This would then enable your to use the shell in various scenarios not just say ECG's

Then using heuristics (rules of thumb) you would develop certain rules and priorities. These would be developed using current/existing knowledge of the condition (s) - This is always te hardest part. For example a specialist will just "know" something and would find it hard to put into words (a rule, or series of rules). Then depending on the 'symptoms' the user provides, you will fire certain rules and ask more questions in order to get to the bottom of the issue..it this what you are trying to do ?

Has anyone (besides the obvious

) been able to compile AMP from the source? His example plugin will build fine but AMP fails it's dependancy check complaining about PBXTargetBuildContext.

With XCode 2.2, it gave these in a popup window and would eventually crash XCode. In 2.3, it only has one and it shows up in the Error window and is complaining about the expandedValueForString method for PBXTargetBuildContext.

I can't find any reference to either the object or the method in the code.

What i've read online so far refers to XCode plugins, but I don't have any installed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Quick check, with Xcode 2.2.1
downloading now....

All good here....compiles well, on pwrbk including plugin.

I have no idea what that is

Try re-unarchiving it from the .zip, and then before you build do a "Clean all" on it from within XCode. FWIW I'm using XCode 2.3

Hey I've been playing around with window animations, and I actually came up with a couple of really nice little things I want to put in. Very, very FrontRow-ish/Apple ish. I guess this description doesn't really help, lol.

Raceer --- thank you, really good idea about all that stuff for the ECG. I have no real idea where to start. I'm not even sure what I want it to do. I have a lot of planning to do!
