I'm new to the carputer world and have been investigating possibly putting an android tablet in. At the moment, the thing that scares me about the Galaxy Tab is that it doesn't have a sunlight readable screen. How big of a deal is that in a car scenario?

Have you seen it outside? That screen is *BRIGHT*! I measure it against my Evo. I know that the unit is brighter than my Evo's screen, as I've played w/a Tab and compared them side by side, and I can see the Evo's screen quite easily in daylight. Given that, unless you're in a convertible, I'd have to say you'd be all right.
^^^Exactly. See my post above with AnandTech's review. Super highcontrast and great viewing angles, exactly what you need in the car because you yourself can't move around much strapped to the seats...
You can't beat a quality screen like that at that price. Plus, you got a whole computer attached to boot, so talk about value...
Yeah, you get a free computer with the purchase of a screen *lol*
Yeah, I was thinking I might have to start a build thread. I just picked up a Pioneer 4 chan Class D amp on the cheap, so I have a front stage now:
-Focal 165VRS component set (not going to use the tweeters)
-Image Dynamics CD1E horns
Hopefully the amp and tab will be here before the weekend. If not, it's all right, I'm patient
