i know it is just a suggestion, but that pico-psu doesn't regulate the 12v line-- so if you try to use it for 12v regulation, its a waste of money..

    no problem.

hopefully that also answers why mini-box makes pico-psu, and m1/m3 variants!

I agree that it all should go directly straight to the battery, I was making the point to them originally but they used the harness instead. well I will have them switch it this week and then when the usb cable comes in and everything is connected ill have a video up and a project page in the show off section. Thanks for all of your suggestions and help, much appreciated

I use my droid x as a internet/gps dongle. Ok guys turns out that all the suggestions didnt work but I did solve it. I bought a power inverter from radioshack for 30$ that was 75w and no fan so it made no noise. Works flawlessly and I will put up a worklog shortly.

Thanks to people like you, I just got myself a used nook color... awesome screen, I'm impressed. Upgraded it to 1.2; but I'm going to root it of course.

Any pointers I can't miss? Just bought a left angle micro usb cable for charging it in the car, if I just feed 5v @ 2.1A I should be able to charge it fine? Or do you HAVE TO use nook's oem? Do you have yours completely discharged often?

Any pointers on rooting (I'm heading to androidtablets.net/XDA for reading right now), pitfalls? What size SD card do you use, and do you use BT headset to listen to music with Cryanogen (sp?)?

Thanks, and good news you got your problem solved. Can't wait for the worklog.

    Cheers,

Great video btw, good job on the buttons and bezel. You need better apps with bigger fonts buttons, perhaps? Did you overclock that thing, it looks faster than mine (stock)...

If youre going to root the nook get phiremod, its the best and it has TONS of support which is great. Also I just use the stock charger plugged into a 75w power inverter thats plugged into an accessory outlet wired to my 12v constant harness so its always powered. (nook is overclocked to 1.1ghz btw) youre on the right track for rooting the nook. I just used a 8gb card since thats what I had sitting around and it works great. I dont use a headset because its wired through my car speakers so theres no reason for me.

Yes its overclocked but like i said in the video that it was running the older version of phiremod, now its 6.1

i know you've already figured out your noise isolation issue but here is a good site to reference on ground loop isolation and electrical noise as i am trying to avoid this myself with my current install. http://www.termpro.com/articles/noise.html
