My tablet just automatically turns the display on when the charger turns on, but you may be able to configure Tasker to turn the screen on when the charger turns on.

That's what I do. I actually keep my tablet on all of the time. I just have it scheduled for the display to wake up for when I go to work and leave work. I also have tasker buttons on my smartphone that will text my tablet and then on my tablet when it receives the text it will turn on the display then adjust the timeout. There's so much you can do.

So you ARE getting your sound output from the headphone jack? This was my big concern as far as quality goes. How can you get true surround out of that kind of setup? I run Alpine Amps, JL "Z" series speakers, a JL W7, and a center channel. I am really trying to get quality sound out of a tablet, not just amplified music (no offense meant).

So I can assume you and badmonkey are simply using the headphone jack output for sound. I am looking for true digital quality and 5.1 if possible. Some trackshave been recorded in 4 channel audio, no quite sure how you can get that off the 2 channel headphone jack. I'm sure yours sounds fine, I just don't want to sacrafice quality for unlimited control, gotta be both.

Its not true surround because I do not have that kind of setup. All I have right now is my stock speakers I haven't upgraded them yet...but straight up as is they bump with awesome sound. I cant imagine when I do upgrade. In any event I feel that in a small area of a car it doesnt take much for dynamic sound.

I would say if your tablet has hdmi find a way to integrate that.

Wanted to firstly apologize for the duplicate "similar" posts. It took over 20 hours for those first two posts to appear, as you can see I have a test reply because they were not showing up. I kind of figured you may be on stock speakers. I'll be curious to see how your SQ is, if/ when you decide to upgrade with amps. Thanks for the input, and time to respond

Yes, I am only using headphone jack, I'm also only using a 2 channel bike amp, so my quality and channels are both restricted by that lol
Pretty sure you can get surround through the headphone jack so long as you have a dolby decoder. I get surround from my iPhone headphone jack when plugged into my home theatre amp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolby_Pro_Logic
Or you could use a bluetooth receiver.
