awesome job man, tried the beta out and it's looking good. couple of bugs but nothing big, i'll make a list later. i agree with the gestures, at least for certain things like swiping pages back and forth and swiping curtains up and down. some things still need dedicated buttons i believe though.
For those who have been testing the first beta, thank you and let me know your feedback, there will be a second beta coming out soon, as I have completely redone the interface and have got swipe gestures working (for the most part), also going to have video working as well. The new interface changed how a lot of stuff works so a lot of code changed so will need it tested throughly.
Also if someone would like to design an icon for the app I have no idea what to do, gonna stick with the name AndCar I think unless something better is suggested, but I need an icon for it so feel free to help.
Ok just a little update on this project, so since I redid the layout have started integrating more features in this version:
--Swipe Gestures are mostly there, having a problem with recognizing swipes on top of clickable items like buttons and list but still usable for the most part (it causes troubles with the slide out menu and navigating to different pages) working on a solution
--Video Player is mostly there just need to actually make it play which shouldnt take too long just working on some other stuff
--Appearance is back to basic since everything changed so have to get back into photoshop and get some graphics done
--Bluetooth Support, right now it can turn on bluetooth which will allow you to connect a handsfree device and use it when making a call, but what Im gonna try and add in is the ability to connect to headunits with bluetooth automatically and start playing music through the bluetooth connection. I know it can be done just is gonna take a lot of extra work to get it working and I dont currently have a headunit capable of this to test. Will be a nice feature for those who are using their phone or dont want to install it in their car and remove their current head unit.
--Wifi support, make it connect to wifi on start up
--Autoplay music on startup
--saves last song (but not current playlist so it defaults to all songs as the playlist on startup)
--Auto Home feature which returns you to the home screen whenever you select a song, nice to go to the home screen and be able to see the now playing info without having to do extra controls, this is selectable in settings
Stick with me I know its taking longer than I wanted, but getting a little more in depth and making it a fully functional front end as to make android tablets/phones a more viable solution.
Im hoping to have the next beta available early next week at the latest, im starting to go cross eyed from staring at code so having to take breaks quite often.
Awesome things take time :D

Awesome to hear about gesture support, this is the way to go! Saving the last song (and playlist in the future!) is a great thing, nobody does that (that I know of). It would be great if you could integrate it somehow with tasker, the developer works with a couple of 3rd party app to enhance functions - he needs "handles" though; so that's maybe something you can thing about later.
very cool, sounds like your integrating some great features. i stream my music through my bluetooth car kit all the time so i'd be willing to test that out for you, i've setup an automated macro through automateit to handle things like enabling and disabling my bluetooth and wifi, starting music playback upon connecting to my bluetooth kit and disabling data when the screen turns off except when streaming pandora to conserve battery life.
i was just able to setup a wifi tether with my phone last night so in the future i will have my phone auto enable tethering once i leave my saved wifi networks and my tablet becomes available, then once connected have my tablet auto launch my selected music service. i love the auto home idea for this reason.
when you connect it to bluetooth does all audio play through the bluetooth connection, cause if it does then I dont need to worry about it, I havent played with any bluetooth stuff so wasnt sure if all audio was sent over the bluetooth connection or just the phone stuff.
all audio is sent through the bluetooth connection, certain apps have the ability to change where the calls and notifications come through though.
How hard it would be to play videos/music from a local network share?
Can it play from dlna severs?
Thanks for the wonderful app, wil try it today.
