Thank You! Will be looking forward to it.
Also, For tablets which does not have 3G/4G (Phone Function) can it be possible to connect to a phone instead via bluetooth?
@RipplingHurst- It shouldnt be too hard to do it, Ill look into it and see what it would take.
@Swivyer- Currently no it can not play from dlna servers, but that is an option and ill add it on the future feature list and look into it
Thank You! Will be looking forward to it.

i believe he's been looking into the phone functionality as have i but haven't seen any way to connect 2 android devices and use one as a hands free unfortunately. but as with everything else, if there is a will there is a way, i'm sure we will see something in the future. DNLA funtionality is built into gingerbread i believe (if we ever see it) and im sure will be a big part of future builds of android. would definately be nice to see it here as well though.
I just wanted to say how stoked I am to see this thread, I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. Although some may disagree about Androids ability to be a viable option for carpi's I think it has all the potential and as you are proving it just takes someone with the skills to put out a quality front end

Thanks!
Awesome. I have tested ORB (is that dlna?) and it works, but it's not friendly, just a list of files...
Yep. I think that the future well have a headless carpc doing all the hard work (storage and physical connectivity like relays and qube devices) in the background with tablets working as a front end with pretty gpu accelerated graphics and voice and gesture control...

Great job on this! Personally I believe that most of the newer tablets provide you with the flexibility to configure your own personalized screen with built in gestures and multiple displays. However, this app provides a nice alternative to the "tablet-like" look. For me this provides nice shortcuts to my common apps. Here are my comments:
- I use Mortplayer so the buttons at the bottom I would never use unless perhaps there is an embedded video player
- It would be nice for an option to be able delete a launcher on a button. I tried holding over top a button where I have an app assigned and there is no option to delete it only replace.
- When I click Settings nothing happens
- I know you're working on gestures so that is great
- A clock with 12 and 12-hour options
Pretty cool though! Maybe I am missing something. How do I adjust settings?

It looks like you are going the right way.
One thing I would love is what you say from the start a easy way to use volume control from the screen, as Im looking to install a tablet as car stereo, and it is clumsy to get to the volume control off a Galaxy tab or other.
I can help by testing on a SE Arc if you like
Regarding connection to a phone (Android - Android) the nice thing if you have a total install of a tablet will be to connect this to your phone using the TABLET as BT handfree. I know it sounds the other way round ;-), maybee it could be done by making the tablet ackt as virtual SIM card for the phone I knoa that some handfree systems does this.

Gizmodo reports this device to be $160: Archos 35 Home Connect
While its a 3.5" screen, the cost is low enough to be a potential entry-level carputer solution
i believe they are about to release a base 7" model as well for $100. any update on the progess??
And now also on Galaxy Tab
