Android Frontend App for tablets and phones

Ok sorry for the wait been busy with work. Here is a pre-beta/beta release all functions should be working, still playing around with the graphics though and placement of everything. Completely different layout from the original version so test it out and let me know what you think/any crashes that happen. Also make sure to read the help file it explains all the gestures to control everything. they are pretty simple but might not know everything is there. As always you need 2.2 or higher version of android and if you dont have a carhome app then go back the earlier post and install the launcher as well.

Thx NightJumper, I'll be reinstalling my A500 in car this weekend and install a JL Audio CL-RLC Remote Level Control and Line Driver.

Awesome job man, its looking real good as always. here's a few things I noticed that your probably already working on.

• Larger menu font size
• Menu page swipes in gesture area, less confusing
• Close and open andcar with external power
• Integrating music streaming services into media player

The app crashes for me when I try to open it. The previous version worked just fine. I'm running a rooted Nook Color with Phiremod 6.3 (based on CyanogenMod 7.0.3).

The only thing I can think of as to why it wouldnt work has to be something with Phiremod, unless other people start saying it isnt working, but I havent had anyone else have any problems yet, except for video which is a known bug I forgot to fix before releasing this beta. If you can access a log for your nook (im not to familiar with Phiremod since its not a google release) and see what error code is being produced in the LogCat that would help. If you dont know how to do that then dont worry and ill look into making it compatible with phiremod as well

finally got a chance to install it on my dell streak.
Everything works great!
Some suggestions:
- Make buttons bigger and clearly separated (actual rectangular buttons)
- Make texts much bigger (like 3 per page) it won't be much of a sacrifice, since your scrolling is nice and smooth. (pretty much all tablets have the same problem in car, too hard to read text while reading)
- Lots of empty space in the music page utilize it, add buttons and enlarge text there.

Thanks for the log I think I found the problem and fixed it, had to do with filling in the data for the now playing page on initial launch. Hopefully what I did works.

Thanks for the comments, also for those that are testing it, screen shots of what it looks like on your device and use the screen shots to help describe what you are suggesting will help, One of the hardest things with developing for android is making the layouts work for all the different size devices and scale properly, so some of the problems with empty space and text size might be the scaling so if you give me screen shots of the major pages I can interpret that better and make it nice.

Also with the video if you are experiencing trouble with the video, i figured out the problem, as a temporary fix make sure your device is in landscape when you launch it and it should work, I dont have a layout specified for portrait right now and forgot to force the video part to landscape so if it isnt already in landscape it cant find a layout and will crash.

Also I am getting to the tail end of a 7 day work week for me, Thursday of next week I get a week off from work and will probably be bored out of my mind so the more screen shots and comments I get about stuff to improve the more I will get done in that week.

Lastly could someone please make an Icon for it I cant seem to think of anything and its annoying me to have the default android icon for it. Thanks for all the help testing and suggestions

It crashes when i try to assign direct dial to it,and it has trouble with video even when i launch it in landscape.

Does anyone know if theres a way to load an android tablet os to a pc. I know some netbooks come with dual os one being android(but its not exactly the same). Would it be legal?
