I have an 07 Avalanche and would also like to know about steering wheel controls. I know the interiors are different but I think it would be a similar concept.

I've been using Tasker and the Screen Off app but all that does is turns the screen black and drains the battery. Pressing the power button's kinda a pain because I have to pop dash trim loose. How can I fix this without relocating power switch?
B.t.w. This is a VERY easy install in trucks with Bose systems. I was able to keep AM/FM/CD/SAT, steering wheel controls, etc. Attachment 65789
did you ever get this figured out?

i believe the free app "NoMoarPowah!" will work for you to turn on the device...

it runs when the device is normally just at the charging screen, it has a setting you can turn on to reboot the device when it reaches 15% charge - so as long as you use tasker to shut down the tablet before 15%, then when it next gets power, this app should take over and boot up the device instead of showing the charging animation.

Slotoy, did you ever get this sorted out? I have an '02 Silverado that I'm looking at installing a tablet in, did you have to modify the dash bezel to fit in in there? How did you mount it?
