Im also looking for a single din head unit, but instead of putting it behind the tablet, Im going to mount it in the arm rest compartment. That way I can control the volume of the tablet from there. I have a question for you. How was it charging the tablet via the 12v USB? Im planning on doing that as well. Any issues or things I need to know? Thanks again, and look forward to hearing from you.

Hey man. I just did the exact same set up in my mkv jetta. I have a question for you about power. Do you have any issues with the tablet dying on you? I have tried tasker to help with that and it still doesn't work. I was trying to think of a way to have an external power button. Any suggestions?
Hey bot444 you got any pictures of yours.
I got mk4 bora, same as jetta. Want to do the same.
Any help would be great.

Hey I do have some pictures. Im still working out a few kinks with mine. I had the stock stereo relocated to the trunk and am currently working on a deck for it. I kept that because I wanted to retain the bluetooth hands free calling. Here are some pictures.

If you did would you comment why? I currently have a forest gen and I`m debating ifd I need to upgrade or not as I just reflashed 4.2.2 from humberos.

I have my Galaxy Tab 2.0 7" installed in the dash...I find that the battery charges enough on my 10-minute commute to keep the device in standby all night...IF I leave the GPS off/de-selected in settings AND have wireless off AND kill any active applications before letting it go into standby. You can automate this in Tasker, but the end result is that it loses about 2% per day of battery life while in standby.

I think that it looks great, but I have one question. How do I have to disassemble the dashboard of the car without make any scratch or break any plastic?
Thanks in advance
