Android steeringwheel control idea
Hello. I'm a long time reader, first time poster.
I'm about to buy a new car, and planning to use an android tablet as an headunit. As the car I am buying (mazda RX-8) have a oem steeringwheel control I want to find a way to use it to control the tablet.
As I one day was playing with my phone I got an idea. The headphones I have has buttons for volume up/down pause, and if I doubleclick the pause it would skip a track.
This got me thinking that it should not be too hard to build a little device that can translate the steeringwheel controls into theese same signals and enter them into the phone/tablet(only tried it on my galaxy note so far, not sure if it will work on all tablets)
Have anyone done such a thing, and does the device I'm describing exists, or do it need to be custom built?
