you could build a ply box and glass that to the fascia and have it so the the tablet slides in from the top then at least you can take it out
Has anyone done a tablet in their mustang yet? I actually ordered a new trim piece today for where the radio and climate controls go because I dont wanna cut the factory one up. My plan is to trim it to the size I need for the tab. Once I do that I am stuck thinking about how to mount the tab to the back of it. It doesn't ever have to come out. The only thing I can come up with so far is getting it fitted exactly how I like and glassing it to the back of the panel. Def not my first choice as that may even be more permanent than I want lol. Anyone have ideas for me?

Have any links to a build log with exactly what you are talking about so I could check it out? Thanks for the suggestions so far btw![]()

Ahh nice job, and thanks for the link. I'm pretty sure I got the right one, I ordered it from a ford dealership.
If my faceplate comes in by the weekend I'll post some pics on my progress in the hopes that it can help someone else. This is the car it is going into.

UPS Tracking shows my stuff getting here tomorrow. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do during the week. I actually even have a big project at work this weekend, but I usually take at least one day off. Looking like that will either be Saturday or Sunday. Soon as I get some time though I'll post some pics. I'm still not 100% on exactly what I'm gonna do, pretty much waiting on the dash piece to come in before I go too far thinking about something that may not work.
Not much of an update, didn't want you to think I abandoned the project though, it's def going to happen sometime in the near future![]()
Got my dash piece, I also somehow got lucky and they told me to take tomorrow off from work. I think I had too many hours last week and it made them sad lol. Not the most exciting update, but I was hoping for an opinion. After I get this all fabbed up and sanded smooth, what color should I paint it? Also, what are the steps that have to be taken to get it to have a nice professional looking finish? I don't think I want anything high gloss. High Gloss bright colors on the dash of a car to me says ricer. In a mustang I was thinking about going with a nice matte black finish but any opinion will be appreciated. I think I have an idea of exactly what I want to do, I even built a mold to Fiberglass over today that the tablet fits into nicely.
I'm doing a lot of reading and watching videos but if anyone has any tips for the fiberglass or finishing I'd appreciate that as well.
