can someone give instructions on setting up tasker tihs way? i have tried but tasker is a bit confusing.

By the way the model number of the above tablet is VS13761

This is a standard duble din kit fro a Audi 99-2004. It's only slightly bigger then the bezel and I didn't have to do any cutting of the dash.

I use a kindle fire with a custom rom on it, the batter charges while car is in use, as long as you remember to shut the unit off when leaving the car it always has power. I can even leave it on for several hours if i know i will be coming back to my vehicle.

For me, when the Tablet is in the dash it's plugged in to a car charger that only gets power when the car is on. I have the tablet screen time out set for 15 seconds and I have a setting in Car Home Ultra that says keep the screen on while Car home ultra is running and its receiving power. I also have a setting in car home ultra that says "Launch Car home ultra when it connects to the blue tooth receiver"
So the scenario goes like this.

In the Video I don't show it but I have a mini usb connector that I plug the tablet into behind the frame of the bezel.

1.) car off, no power going to nexus 7, Nexus 7 "Sleeping" aka screen off, Blue tooth off.
2.) Turn car on,
-Power goes to bluetooth receiver and it starts broadcasting it's signal.
-Power goes to Nexus 7 and the "Wakes up" Screen comes on, in 15 seconds the screen will go off but...
-Nexus 7 connects with Bluetooth receiver and...
-Car home ultra launches and because it is charging the screen stays on.
3.) Turn off ignition.
-Blue tooth receiver stops broadcasting
-Nexus 7 stops charging so...
-Screen dims and goes off in 15 seconds.

No power drain when car is off.
