Yes you can use the switcher on its own. The switcher requires 5v power and 1 signal connection. Applying 5v signal to the right pin will switch between 2 touchscreen sources. We will draw up the pin connections to make it easier for you to use the switcher as a standalone device.

    Will it work?

Will this system work on the new Holden IQ head unit in the series 2 Commodores/Luminas?
Do you guys currently have stock of the modules?
Can we choose our own international delivery method?

But congratz to you guys for making this system, seriously well done!

This system seems to show a lot of promise. After all the reading of 3 months of delays on getting this to the consumer, I'm a bit skeptacle, I'm sure you understand. Do you have a realistic expected time of delivery on these items? I would also like to know if you can do the audio through analog connections as opposed to bluetooth, I know that video must go through this connection. I will be trying to integrate this into an Alpine W505. Here is a pic of the touch screen in it (appears to be the smaller 4 wire connector), this would meen I would need the Type "A" switcher ad-on correct?

I can't help with the shipping time , as you can see I have been waiting on this since the November date but I can help with some of the other info. Neither the video nor the audio are transmitted over bluetooth. The only thing that is transmitted is the touch info and button presses from the onboard inputs. As for using analog it depends on the phone if it will put audio out through the headphone jack while outputting video over HDMI. The other option is to use a device that strips the audio out from the HDMI and puts out analog.

Dave, now that you have explained how the signals are being processed. I have a better understanding. I did not realize it was possible to send bluetooth siganls from a touchscreen to a phone. Really cool concept, would love to try it out. I wonder what kind of app alows that to happen? Stripping and converting the video and audio signals from HDMI should not be that big of a deal. Has anyone heard any word on realease dates?

Still nothing here on release dates but if you look into the Mimics module by the same company there may be a little more info on how everything works. From what I understand it is basicly just a bluetooth driver that reads the data. I would asume it is a serial signal that is converted to a X/Y axis on the phone.

The iOS version is but not the Android. Well not separately yet anyway.

We finally got the Android modules today, doing a few tests on them as we are not sure what the manufacturer got up to. We are now going back to out mimics for iOS manufacturer

The mimics for iOS have been installed in a few cars and headunits, but haven't been keeping record.
The Android module is in stock now, just testing and shipping out by end of next week!!!

All compatible devices will work with hands free car kits. Most devices will support A2DP, but for A2DP to work the receiving monitor must not support audio as the sound wont stream.

Type 'A' connection is correct for that touchscreen.

Two applications are required, one driver and one for settings, configuration and calibration.

If you want more detailed info, you can look at the mimics for iOS manual as it is almost the exact same concept as the Android version.
