No news here, No mails regarding the delay or tracking info, neither is there any official statement on the website.
I can understand there are/was problems but they really schould inform us better.

Again they promised to deliver and by the looks of it, they didn't. Worsed of all they haven't informed us about it.

I put everything back in my car, minus the android module. Just heads up, when the phone syncs up hdmi to the screen, it only does it on initial power up, and wont resync if its broken. IT can be broken if the screen changes inputs (backup cam for example), if the phone changes resolution this happens when you stream videos. Power button on the element wont do anything to reset the EDID params. I ended up, putting in a inline power switch to the screen. Quick power cycle allows resync with the phone. Not sure if this is the case with all phones and screens, but I cross tested with galaxy s2, and galaxy nexus to element 7", and liliput 669. The only other possible problem I have noticed is that I dont know if this will work for long trips. Most phones will lock charging at 500 ma at best, and most likely less given its going through the MHL adaptor. I tested mine at 285~300 ma. When HDMI is up, 3g/4g up, bluetooth up, GPS up, its barely breaking even, and if you are running videos, say netflicks, or youtube....it was losing charge at rate of about 80~100 ma while plugged in.

Some one really needs to make a rom for these phone so that we can have the screen off, while MHL is outputting, running both displays is really killing the battery.

Thanks for the info, I was wondering about the charging. Have you tried setting up a tasker rule to have the screen back light turned down all the way when you connect it to HDMI? That should help a little with charging and battery drainage. If not and you try it let me know if it works. I will have to look into the HDMI sync problem as well.

I believe a lot of us paid already. At the least I was order number 30. Sent Custom an email and haven't received a response yet. Paid via paypal. Anyways, I would hold off on orders until we they start shipping the pre-orders that are 4 months late.

Sad to see so much potential and possibilities but not quite sure how stable or responsive this business is. I've been telling people about this minus the part I'm still waiting for it. Come on Custom, you said you'd ship last week.

I think I'm done and out. This has been a complete failure for me. The issues were GPS and battery life. Battery last about 1 freaking hour with Bluetooth, 4g LTE, HDMI out, screen on 10% brightness, and GPS on.which is rediculous.
I have a skyrocket, Samsung galaxy s2. GPS works fine alone , locks to 12 sat indoors under 8 seconds. Hook up the mhl cable and the GPS dies. It it can barely lock to one or two says, and SNR becomes too great.so its basically impossible to use the GPS, enjoy the phone for more than an hour, not to even include the HDMI sync issues.

Only way to salvage this project is to go back to my captivate phone, 3g , with analog audio and video out. No HDMI sync issues and almost useable GPS.

Wow, thats pretty rough. I use a Droid 3 running on 3g so my phone maintains charge. Motorola also has a special OEM car dock which I'll modify to support HDMI.
