As far as I know, no. I'm waiting for someone to post a youtube video of it working so I can re-order it.

I'll see if I can provide a more dummy proof guide. I recently received the module from CustomGadz and began an installation to interface with my screen. It is far from finished though since my project is a bit more complicated. I'll put up some pictures and some more details later after work.

A few notes from what I learned. Use the instructions provided in the PDF from their website. Follow it in ORDER. I'll provide more info later when I get home from work.
I found a working one back a couple of pages ago....

Most people have v1.5. You can check your version by simply pairing up the device (standard way) and looking at the device name. You should see "cGadz v 1.x".

Any other updates will done via firmware which can be easily updated over USB.
So I am seeing "cGadz v1.4" on the android. I never got a v1.5 version. I have sent email's a couple of times describing my problem, can I get some help?

Customgadz, I'm still waiting on a reply I posted from a month ago. Is everything now available for shipment inclusive of the switcher module? I'm going to be hooking this into my Alpine double din. Thanks

Im beginning to think we are all getting lead on here...and if not, their communication with their customers is just plain egregious. I've sent multiple emails and posts and no reply. Im starting to get more and more upset and scarred I am out over $200 USD.

Along with many of you, I have been waiting many months for this to finally arrive with little to no contact from the seller. This guy is obviously very good at what he does but not so good at running a small business. I have now spoken to him on the phone on a couple of occasions so I can confirm that he is a real person lol.

The install was very easy, the only issue that I am having is that the x and y axis of my OEM touch screen are flipped, so if I touch the bottom of the touch screen it actually tells the phone that I am touching the left hand side. Spoke with the Customgadz and was told that my touch screen is in the minority that this will happen to and that to fix this, I simply need to flip the one end of the 4wire ribbon that goes into the switcher module. He said that so I don't need to do this, he will update the firmware and send it to me with some other software that was being sent. All in all, installing the X2 and switcher modules was easily the most simple part of the entire install, figuring out how to get 5v power to the X2, Samsung HDMI out cable and HDMI to RCA converter was MUCH harder!

Everyone be patient, I guess that I have the advantage of being in Australia, maybe some of you are overseas which makes communication a little harder. Whilst Customgadz is definitely not the best communicator on the planet (somewhere near the bottom of that list probably), his product definitely does work. If I don't hear from him by later tonight, I will simply be flipping the 4 wire ribbon and then sorting it out when the firmware upgrade finally arrives. I may post some video of the system in action this weekend, just to put some other peoples minds at ease.

Hope this helps some of you.

    Cheers
    Al
    Care to post that video?

Hy, Can you please PM me your order number and we will look into it..

This is the current issue we have had.. When Android support was initially done, ICS and JellYBEAN did not exist and it was very hard to accommodate for this. We tried to resolve this by resending updated bootloader image firmware in the modules and this was quite an expensive task for us.

So what have we done about it.. We have been working on an updated version that solves this issue for months now. We will have limited prototypes available next week on the new model and will be sending some out first to early customers. The new model can update every portion of the code via a MicroSD card which will make updating a piece of cake.

Installation will also be very easy as the new module will be able to be mounted externally so no need to open up your dash or headunit more than once.

If any you guys are "over" this Android module and are fed up, email us and we will issue a full refund..

For all you guys that have had faith and supported us during this time we really appreciate all the feedback we have received, good and bad. This has truly helped us create the new "killer" module. We really cant thank you guys enough!!

    Dave,

Thank you for the reply. I can understand how technical issues due to how fast Android moves can be annoying. I also know it is annoying to have to answer customer emails all the time. But just little status updates like these and responding to emails puts a lot of faith back in those of us who ordered. Im not fed up or over it- In fact my whole system is planned around it and all the expensive hardware I bought. I think the idea is fantastic. We just need a little communication so that we know are concerns/questions arent being ignored and that you guys are still alive.
