    What monitor would you suggest?
Looks like the galaxy tab uses the same HDMI adaptor (MHL) as the Samsung galaxy S2, so it should be fine.

In regards to a monitor selection, they all have different specs depending on your installation. I know that there are some open frame sunlight readable 7" for about $480 (minimum order 2pcs) made by avionics that are designed for displays in cockpits. These have industrial operating temperature, high resolution and high brightness. Not sure if these have a reverse camera trigger though.

What about the EVO 4G? I can already mirror my screen via HDMI on my TV.

If you are running cyanogen mod we can probably help you. The standard ROM is not currently supported.

I can definitely see the good points about these sort of things, but for me it's useless as a CarPC replacement etc until they have at least FM Radio or even better, digital radio in the android device as well.

The Android version of this system was primarily designed to "mesh" into your factory/OEM system or your carPC (not to replace) so you can choose to switch between you phone and existing system on the fly. Thats why we released the switcher add-on. You can however use this system as a complete replacement, but there is a lot more installation to do.

Funny I am replacing my CAR PC with this.......way more advantages with than a CARPC. Android GPS (updates are way better than almost any CP based ones out there.) No need to tether, and both Pandora, Sirius, XM, and most FM are available via streaming service.

Ill be happy to get rid of all the crap needed to handle power on power off, updates, and hassle of a CARPC. And cost...~1000 on my first build, and about 300 per upgrades.....here upgrade path is a new phone.

Yes, i have a headend, as i was using aux input to route carpc audio, but i dont use the radio. I use pandora, sirius, and my local radio is avavilable as streaming radio. But ido know that some phones do have fm radio built in, so that might work for you without a decicated headend.

Yup I am running Cyanogen Mod! I am actually right in the middle of my first CarPC install on my 06 Acura TL. I am integrating the CarPC in with my OEM system in a similar fashion already. I built a switcher and bought a USB touch screen controller so I can switch back between my OEM touch screen and the computer. Did the same thing for the video, the carpc outputs to a ScanDo 800 to convert to RGB and I can switch back and fourth.

It looks like I could easily add your system to my existing setup I would just need a 3-way switch for the touch screen and I would I need to convert the HDMI to RGB, HDMI to composite doesn't seem like it would be that great quality wise?.

I was on your website and I see you sell a glass touch screen, can I assume this is capacitive it doesn't say? Is there a capacitive touch screen that could be controlled by the OEM system? I would love to have a capacitive touch screen but I still need to factory board to be able to control it.

So you want to have a CarPC/OEM and Android all selectable? This will require another type of switcher as the current "Switcher add on" system can only switch between 2 systems. Our various available touchscreens are 4-wire which is what 99% of OEM systems have.

We could make a 3-way switcher, though not sure there will be enough demand for it. If you get really stuck we could help you with a 3-way selector if you like.
