As long as you can mirror your device on your headunit, installing the MimcisX2 should be fine. Android devices will require a small HDMI to A/V converter.

Due to a slight delay in the maufacture of the mimicsX2
cable harness, all ordrs will be shipped mid-november.

hope this doesn't turn into another Craig Brass scenario.
The cables that we have been waiting for a long time have arrived, we just need to do a few test to make sure everything is ok then will can ship straight after that. So looks like shipping might be sooner that expected. Not sure who Craig Brass is though I assume hes wasnt a good person :P

I would love to also be able to integrate a compatible Android phone with my carputer but I'm not able to determine on my own if this is possible.

If the X2 doesn't support this, are there any other products that would? Even if I can get something that will at least display to an RCA input (and allow me to control from my phone but still display on my G4) would be awesome. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

If you saying that your vehicle has an AUX RCA input then a HDMI to A.V converter will enable mirroring to your OEM screen. Im guessing the "Infill G4" is the brand of headunit and not your type of vehicle.

So this X2 works with Bluetooth-- does this mean I can just plug a USB Bluetooth receiver into my G4 and expect things to work? If so, I would definitely be interested in using a "switcher" in order to switch between using the Android output and the normal functions of the G4. I tried finding a switcher via Google search but can't seem to find the right thing. Can anyone help with this please? Thanks again!
The touchscreen of your headunit/OEM screen is intercepted and controlled via the mimics. The mimics then communicates to your phone over bluetooth. So no, a bluetooth dongle plugged into the USB port of your headunit will not give you mimics fuctionality. You will need to fit the Type "a" sender in the unit and the main mimicsX2 will connect externally via the supplied extension cable.

**There was also a post on car PC intergration with mimics, cant seem to find it for some reason. So the answer to MimicsX2 intergration with a PC is quite simple. As long as your monitor has an additional video input it will be ok. You will simply need to fit the Type "A" switcher. If you only have one HDMI input you can use a cheap HDMI switcher and have the mimicsX2 trigger the required HDMI input.

Thats great news. hope you can get them sent out as soon as possible. Its the last thing missing form my set up and I can't wait for it to arrive.

Craig brass was someone who developed a board, took out money sent some out to people then said more were on there way but then he disappeared without a trace.

I will apologize as I was a bit quick to jump to that.

Thanks so much for the response! Sorry, I should have clarified-- the Infill G4 is an all-in-one Double-DIN touch-screen carputer that was sold here on MP3Car.com some years ago but has since been discontinued.

OK, so I plan on buying the Moto Razr Maxx HD next month. Are you saying that I can hard-wire the X2 into my Infill G4 carputer's screen, or practically any other touch-screen, and that I won't need any physical connection(s) between my phone and the X2?? All that links my phone to the X2 is the bluetooth connection, and no other cable (including an HDMI connection) is needed??? Sorry for the confusion, just trying to put this together in my head. If that's the case, I'm about to place an order lol. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks again!!

This was the Infill G4, by the way, in case it helps understand what I'm looking to wire the X2 to. It does have an RCA video input, which would mean that I would have to control the phone actions via the phone itself, rather than the G4's screen. I'm looking to control the phone via the G4's touch-screen, so I can still hard-wire the X2 to the G4's screen to control the phone via the G4's touchscreen, and use the switcher to cycle between the X2 and the G4's GUI, correct???

If I go with the module itself and supply my own 7in monitor are there any wiring diagrams on how to hook everything up? I am new in this world but I would like to replace my HU with an LCD and strictly use my cellphone for everything. I would also like to run two LCDs mirroring the phone in the back.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the type "A" switcher is uses to switch between G4 touchscreen function and phone. Switching can either be done automatically after device auto pairs, or you can manually trigger it also.

Basically you connect the touchscreen adapter directly to the touchscreen and the you phone to the HDMI connection. If you have a look at our old iOS manual under "documentation" on the website you will see how straight forward the installation is.

Thanks again customGadz. So the video output from the phone to the X2 will be broadcasted via Bluetooth (no physical wires), but the audio will have to be broadcasted via the phone's HDMI-out with a converter or via the phone's headphone output to an adapter if I planned on using my stereo's/carputer's RCA audio inputs for sound.... is this all completely correct?
