Thread: Android Ultimate In-Car OEM System - Remote Bluetooth Touch, HDMI Mirroring

OK, so now I'm kind of leaning toward the 'MimicsX2 7" touchscreen Dash kit upgrade' but here is my concern...

I want to share this screen with a carputer. I can use an HDMI 2-to-1 switch/adapter to combine the output from the phone and the carputer and switch between the two, but how would I get the touch function of the screen to the carputer? Does the screen have an USB connector to connect between the carputer and the screen in order to gain the touch control for the carputer?

Would this unit also function like the individual MimicsX2 module, where it can automatically switch to individually control the phone when paired via Bluetooth, and then the touch control will switch back to a USB in order control the carputer when the phone is un-paired from the unit?

Nope and they arent answering emails now either.

Everyone will get a tracking number on the 24rd January.. Everything is basically ready to go, so its just a little wait from now.

Does this mean all development is done and you got all the parts?
Is there a chance that we are not getting tracking numbers on the 24th of Jan?

Sorry dont want be rude but the big companys are more and more comming with plug and play systemens, like pioneer with the "advanded app mode" for both iphone and android on a few models, And even more models next year.
I still would love to get this in my car but i see it happening that the 24th of Jan will pass without tracking numbers like before

I am now planning to use this with an ug007 android hdmi stick that has bluetooth,
So i'm wondering if there is any touchscreen drivers needed in the device to get this working? Because when i plug in my egalax touchscreen directly via usb i get the famous swapped axis problem.

I'm really excited about this product. I actually convinced my wife to let me install something like this in our family car. My biggest concern for her sake is having her easily access radio if needed. Her phone has a FM tuner built in (Galaxy S2) and mine doesn't (Galaxy S3) which I can live with, but I was thinking of putting in another system to handle radio and maybe a backup camera or camera in the backseat so she can see a baby in the future. Maybe even a camera in the front grill?

I've always said that I've wanted a product that I just want to plug my phone into which would replicate it on-screen, but through the cars audio system. My phone does everything a stereo does and more.
The important points I just want to verify are this:

Once connected to the audio system when I receive or make a call through the phone how is the microphone utilized? Is there a way to use a external mic that I could run through the car up above the driver's seat? Would I have to use a bluetooth device?
I suppose if I wanted to have another system like a carputer to run radio, camera's, etc do I need a display that has a button on it to switch inputs? - This is more secondary
Alternatively I suppose I could buy a stereo from Pioneer or JBL that's double din and use that OR could I install just a regular car stereo and tie that to the system? Again I imagine I'd have to switch inputs so that the stereo is now active.

This is exactly what I have been looking for. My wife actually told me she would let me do this to our family car if everything was simple to use. The only thing I worry about is radio access. Her phone has an FM Tuner (Galaxy S2) while my Galaxy S3 doesn't. In Canada our data plans aren't anything like the USA so streaming music/radio can start to become costly.

I was thinking of using a secondary system like a carputer to add AM/FM and maybe add some cameras as well. The other option I suppose would be to add a car stereo with the touchscreen to have 2 systems.

I've always said I should just be able to plug my phone into a system and then control it on screen. My phone has everything i need. Maps, Phone, video, etc. What I am wondering though with this system is how the microphone system would work while on a call. Do you run a separate mic cable to above the drivers seat or do you need to pair it with a bluetooth device? I want the audio to come through the stereo system when a call comes in. If this can be accomplished with ease then I should be sold on the system!

I plan on using the NFC tags so when I get in the car I just tap the tag and the phone will turn into "car mode". I'm also interested in changing out my garage door opener to one that has an app so I can control from the screen. I see nothing but a million possibilities with this system. Hopefully the microphone issue is simple!
