"We have done many refunds already (read the thread). Nearly all the people that waited have received the mimics" - Sorry, I didn't realize "Nearly" meant "everyone" :(

- Mimics for iOS only was released. There was not one complaint or refund :)
- We then got many requests for Android support. At the time only a few devices were compatible (ICS didn't even exist then)
- So when made the Gen2 Android only mimics., soon after ICS was released and the current hardware would no longer work if you upgraded to ICS. This was a major issue.
- When then rapidly developed a new module (now called the MimicsX2 - which took about 5 months). While we were at it, we decided to roll in the functionality for iOS support to make it a universal module.
- We used the existing BT hardware from the previous version and after some time the part got discontinued! So this extended development even more.
- So in this 5 month development period we had many complaints that the mimics (X2Module) didn't work after ICS upgrade. We notified customers of this delay and all we got was "when, when, when will it be ready!". From a development point of view its very hard to predict a completion date. So our time line was always way off.
- The new mimicsX2 was born which had its on manufacturing/cable issues which had to be rectified before production.
So what now?
We are aware that there are various customers that have been waiting a long time due to this development, discontinued BT hardware and ICS issue, etc
When people wait too long they think they have been scammed. We must admit we have been a bit ashamed in our customer service/response to every single one of our customers. Most have a very good experience though.. Pleasing the whole world is not as easy as we thought, especially when you get almost 100 emails per day.
We are still here and not going anywhere, and not planning to deceive or scam anyone regardless of what happens.
Our priority at the moment is back order shipments as opposed to refunds. Refund requests are time consuming and need to be processed correctly. There were a few occasions where some customers received a refund and also received the product. This was a Easter promotion we had.. haha, joking.
We are attending to the current orders as quickly as we can, and have been doing so for a while..
Again, if you are still waiting for your refund it will come :)
Dave, with all due respect, there are multiple ways to keep people in the loop then responding to 100 emails a day that is less time consuming. Why have you not done the following

That's just wrong and deceitful to new customers and misleading to people waiting. Did I get skipped? Did I get scammed? Did my order get lost? I have no idea.
- point people here and respond here with status updates.
Knowing what is going on is my #1 complaint. You say nearly everyone is satisfied but you still get 100 emails a day? Why aren't you sorting and prioritizing emails? Maybe create a new email address (s) to help sort your mail.
Finally why is my refund less important then backorders? This again is irritating. Serve people first come first serve. Why is my refund less important then a backorder? Are you putting people who have waited patiently for months who finally gave up behind new orders? That's just wrong. I know you want to make money, but throwing those who requested refunds under the bus is bad business.
How am I not supposed to feel scammed? No status updates. Selective order processing. Outdated info on your website. Really?
Just wanted to chime in on this and say that I did receive my tracking number. So don't lose hope. Also, as a mobile applications developer who also dabbles in hardware, i really do sympathize with the whole ICS issue. In an industry like this where your entire product line is completely dependent upon what apple/google decide to do with their OS', it is exceedingly difficult to make something that will last for several OS upgrades (especially something that's more than just an average calculator app). That being said, the architecture and software of those OS' has matured greatly in the past couple years and i doubt that we'll see much in the way that would break something compatible with this gen for quite some time. However, these things do happen.
Point is it appears that THIS hardware developer has been sitting on the hardware and putting people off. Still taking money from people for a product that was not available as advertised and not giving any sort of updates technically IS scamming regardless if you plan to have product or not. If it is not currently available you don't post it otherwise and treat customers this way.
Realistically.. What should have been done is status updates and refunds to anyone who didn't want to wait. They could still reorder the product later if they still wanted it.
At this point they have made a very poor name for themselves and who will want to buy products from them in the future regardless of the quality of the product. I know I sure as heck won't touch them with a 10' pole.
And once again.. Your information given is incorrect. Payments have already been disabled 2 weeks until we fulfill refunds/backorder. Although there might be a price tag on the product, its impossible to purchase as we have disabled all payment options until will cleanup all the backorders.

How about this:
Contact all the mp3car members that have mentioned that "they didn't receive" or "no refund", and provide updated post information.
Here is my take on what appears to have happened with this. You had a product you wanted to sell. You had issues but were working on a fix for it. Instead of giving updates on this and offering immediate refunds you instead kept the money to help pay for the intended upgrades needed to make it work. You didn't want to admit failure and kept hoping you could have a finished product done "soon" so you could fulfill your orders. But you kept running into problems which post poned your release. You got into a situation that you found hard to get out of but you fully intended to fill all orders but didn't want to give up the money you already had in your pocket. Hoping to slick talk people and that you were betting on having product available soon.
Now that you have product available you plan to send out the product to all those you still have the payments from. Regardless if they asked for a refund or not. That way you can keep the money, the people get the product they ordered and all is well... Except for the fact that you ended up ticking off a bunch of people. It is interesting that you kept quiet until a couple days after someone mentioned they filed a complaint with your local authorities. Then all of a sudden you come out of "hiding" and can't figure out why everyone is upset and make promises in public.
Sounds pretty fishy to me.. You say you haven't been contacted by the authorities but the mere fact that someone has stated they filed a complaint and offered how others can too sounds like you felt you had to do something before you end up in jail.
You are darn lucky you are not in the US. You would still be in trouble for mail fraud and looking at serious issues.
Sorry, your "take" theory is incorrect. Good try though :P

This "complaint" that was filed happened weeks ago. So I didn't come out of "hiding" the day this happened.. So yet again, you assumptions are incorrect. I contacted "pdanders" via email a few times before I came out of hiding, and after he filed the complaint.
Again... I will attempt to clarify things a bit more:
If you haven't received the product yet, you will get it shortly.
If you are waiting for a refund, you will also get that shortly.
If you request a refund, we will cancel the order via the website and then process your refund.
Unfortunately we cant give a date/time to the millisecond when this will occur, but we are actively processing/shipping/refunding the best we can. If you look at the most recent posts this should prove that :)
hahaha, this post is awesome. In the midst of all this chaos and rage. This just makes me laugh. :high5:

Dave, I think it's in your best interest not to attack your customers albeit if their theories are not accurate. A theory is just a theory and as we sit in a black hole having no idea what you say is accurate or not will lead one to wonder. As for the posters theory, my first thought was no, can't be, but then again, the more I thought about it, it is a good theory.

If you want to continue to make us out to be the bad guy, go for it. I will list every email I sent and response (or lack of a response) if I need to. But here is a summary
I ordered 2012-09-16 20:23:49
on Oct 26 you said shipping in about a week
on Nov 20 you answered an LVDS question for me
now enter the black hole
on Mar 19 I cancel and you immediately respond. As for the refund . "Please allow for 1 week for this to happen."
on May 3 you respond you have been overseas and I will have a refund by Monday, silly me thought the next Monday May 8 but the way you are critiquing people here I better say you did no say what Monday.
On May 3 I contacted the ORS and indicated so here.
May 9 you respond that yes you missed the deadline (again)
So you emailed me several times before you came back out of hiding? Huh? Where were you March 19-May 3? Whether it is coincidence, it was odd a refund to another customer and my email came around the time someone else first posted the ORS information. Obviously I agree that hasn't turned you thinking 180 degrees as I still don't have me refund but coincidence or not, it is when you re-appeared.
For the record I contacted you on
