Android Ultimate In-Car OEM System - analog or digital audio???

    Hello,
I'm ordering one of the Android Ultimate In-Car OEM System's.
I've ordered this touchscreen that comes with it's own HDMI pc board (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=110659973152 ).

I use a micro-HDMI cable from my Android Droid Razr to full-size HDMI input on the monitor pc board...transmitting video and audio to the touchscreen/pc board.
the pc board has a 3 pin SPDIF output connection. I would use this output to connect to a car amplifier.
But i cannot find a car amp that has SPDIF inputs?
    Anyone know of one?

    thanks,
    chumboy

The Audison BitOne processor/equalizer has digital coax and optical spdif inputs. It can then drive Audison Thesis amps via proprietary optical link.

Looks like you and I want to do very similar things (accept I will be keeping the stock car radio and will do audio via bluetooth). I was looking at that LCD you bought. How/where do you plan on mounting/installing the osd button control board? Or do you plan not to use that and solely use the remote?

    I've changed my plans.
    ditching the 7" display.
going to mount an Asus Transformer tablet over my existing Avic Z1 nav system. Will run audio from tablet to AUX input on Avic.
Will do a wifi link between tablet Droid Razr for data connectivity.
Razr will also bluetooth to my eixsting Parrot bluetooth receiver so's i can make phone calls using my existing speakers.

Hoping someone will make an android app that does remote desktop between 2 android devices (currently, you can only remote desktop from phone to pc).

The two apps I've been fooling around with (between my Atrix 2 and old HTC Aria) are Webkey and MirrorOp.

    Webkey:

    MirrorOp Sender:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...phone2tv&hl=en

    MirrorOp Receiver:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...5yZWNlaXZlciJd

Don't be fooled by Webkey's clunky web interface; there's a new feature in the app that allows you to bypass it completely, and go device-to-device.

My concerns about this sort of setup (and my decision to wait for CustomGadz's new offering) are as follows:

-- It's a little on the sluggish side, as VNC apps tend to be. Usable, but just barely.

-- How I'd probably want to set this up, would be for the carputer (in your case, the tablet) to offer up a wireless hotspot to the phone. I couldn't get that to work for the MirrorOp apps (the Sender could never find its Receiver counterpart, even when I gave it a manual IP address).

-- Seamlessness. You have to go through some minor interface hoops to make the phone connect to the carputer's hotspot, and then sync up the remote desktop apps. I know there are apps like Tasker which can help you automate a great deal of it, but I think there are just enough timing variables involved to ensure that you'll always be fumbling with configuration after you start the ignition.

    But then, YMMV.
