Nah...if you're going for a "OEM" look, you're likely to wind up with something that looks like this (or Centrafuse). Taken a look at Open Mobile? Its looked like a CF clone from day one. We may have gotten there first, but this is just the proverbial "little black dress" of touchscreen infotainment UI design.
It should work no problem on Cyanogen mod. I haven't tried myself for a while though. Last time you couldn't rename buttons was probably an old version before I introduced that feature.Quote:
will this work on Cyanogen Mod? I have Timur's USB-ROm which is based on this and the last time I installed it I could not rename any buttons (4.2 Nexus 7 1st gen) but it works on my 4.4 Nexus 7 2nd Gen
As for the rest of you, I know it has similarities with CF, but also very different in other ways. When I first started this project a couple of years ago, I did what all artists do, take what they know from their experiences. I tried just about all of the car computer software out there and none of it did what I needed/wanted, that's why I started my own.
Take a look at OSX, Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc... They all look and function very similar. iOS, Android, Windows Mobile. Again, all very similar.
I haven't taken a pixel perfect copy and made it work. I used they very limited real estate available on a 7" screen to display as much information as possible in a clean and uniform way. From a coding point, CF and my project don't share a single line of code. There stuff is all .NET, everything here is Java.
Like VegasGuy said,. It looks this way because it works.Quote:

I see a good idea somewhere else, I'm going to implement it in my own way. By doing so, I can add my own little changes and truly make it mine.
Just pushed a new apk with background changing abilities. It's a simple feature, but I hadn't included it until now. You can choose an image from your gallery for the background, or use the color picker to select the top and bottom gradient colors. There is also the ability to change the brightness, useful for bright pictures and white text. If you don't like your changes, simply press reset background to default and it all goes away.
While writing this I also found and fixed another bug regarding the back button. It's quite possible nobody noticed it, but it's fixed regardless.
Nice work background pics work great!! I recieved my gps but cant get it to work on the odroid supposed to be a bu353s4 sirf star 4 chipset says "G-star IV" on the device cant work out how to use the gps "helper" app this is a link to exact device http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/230620688...84.m1439.l2649 help appreciated
Just a suggestion but any chance there could be an option to hide the center set of icons and just use the ones on either side? Have it so the center group only show once apps added to them in the settings menu?
I'm not sure about your GPS issues. The link provided just redirects me to ebay.ca without any details. From what I gather it's a USB based device. You might have to enable Mock Locations for the helper app to work. To do so, go to Settings, About Phone, and Click on Build number 7 times (I believe) until it says you are now a developer. Then go back to Settings, Developer Options, turn them on, and scroll down to Allow Mock Locations and enable it. Once you've done that the helper app should work.
As for your other question, having the icons hidden. I can add an option to hide them all together and only use the sidebars. Then you'll have to add all your links on the two sides only, and the middle content will be replaced with the music, nav, settings, etc... That's what you'd like?
Yea if possible to use just the sides to pin apps to and hide the middle group of icons would be awesome.
I don't know about the helper app, I don't have an external GPS model like that. I'll keep thinking.
As for your other request, it's done. Update the app from the settings menu and let me know if that's what you wanted ;)
