Android version? I don't see why it would have cause any issue with the bars... Only in Kitkat do they fully get hidden, but the older code for <Kitkat shouldn't have changed and cause issues...

Android 4.4.4 cm11 unofficial When I enter the frontend I cant get back out to android and have to reboot the device. On my device I have a menu bar at the bottom like older honeycomb android bar with home back volume up and down and power off, this dissapears and I cant get back out of the frontend. Before I could just swipe down from top with mouse and the menu bar at the bottom popped back up. Just found out if I go into the bluetooth devices settings/paired devices my menu bar pops back up.

Hmm, I used the same version on both N7 2013 and my USB-ROM N7 2012 and the N7 2013 worked fine.. Since you have made updates I will try it again.. looking forward the the IO interface coding you are working on

    SO I tried it tonight on my N7 (2012) with USB-ROM (4.2.2)

it will install and load.. I can press settings and then press side bar set up ( or main menu) once I get there and I press a blank button to edit it and the whole screen goes blank and does not recover. I force clsoed the app a couple times to try again, cleared data and then Cleared cache on different occasions. I wish I could use it, but cannot set buttons

    Any thoughts?

I have a video if you need it

That's weird. Post the video, it might help? Otherwise my first though would be ROM version. I haven't tried 4.2.2 in a long time. I think bluc was trying different versions a few days ago. bluc, did you get a 4.2.2 to work at all?

When I first started this project I was using the USB-ROM as well, but since it's been abandoned I've moved on to stock Kitkat. I only have one device to develop with and I'm not about to go changing versions all the time, too much work. That being said if anybody wants to donate some hardware I can test multiple versions

Otherwise I'll try adding some debug logging, but if it's not crashing then it won't actually help me. I'm think I'm going to have to reproduce the problem to fix it.

Hey I totally understand, about not wanting to switch versions.. I wish I could switch from USB-ROM, but I am not Android Savvy when it comes to knowing what might work for USB host mode while charging.. I have this as a fixed install in my car, So any suggestions would be great.

Are you using USB accessories? I am using an USB OTG cable on the stock ROM and it keeps it charged almost all of the time. The Nexus 7 has always had a problem with batter life and charging.
I'll look into the problem a little later, I'm off for a while.

I cant help either I went back to 4.1.2 but when you said 4.2.2 minimum I ended up just going back to 4.4.4 now on cm11 which is also 4.4.4.

Yeah I am using USB Accessories:
    -USB Flash Drive
    -USB to HDTuner cable
    -USB to FTDI ALDL cable
    -USB DAC
-SDR Tuner (might remove this one)

I am thinking I might just be out of luck on your app.. Which I understand.. I wish I knew how to do this stuff
