I've updated it tonight. I found a few bugs that crash the app if you don't have any music or an Arduino plugged in. Should be fixed.
Also found a bug with the maps and the signed apk that I'm looking into.

this is looking awesome. i have an android/arduino question. is it possible to get gps navigation information from an android device. for instance. if i wanted to use the front end but then have a gauge mounted display that would pop up a left arrow when the gps prompts me to turn left?

You will likely have to write a program to do this or find one. I don't believe phone devices are setup to be used as external devices like that normally.

You may be able to find something in the market that allows you to use your phone as a GPS USB puck or something similar.

That's an interesting idea. My first thought of how to make it work would need a turn-by-turn navigation API, which I don't have yet. But if (hopefully when) I get that working, it shouldn't be hard to implement an external display with left/right arrows and the like.

Using a Bluetooth shield it'd be easy. There are GPS to Bluetooth apps for android that share you GPS data to COM. I'm actually in the middle of including this in a new side project which will be on the blog soon.

Hi there, I love what you've done.
I've been looking to do exactly the same thing in my MK4 golf. Only instead of using a tablet, using a Wandboard Quad or something else similar running Android. And connecting it to a double din touch screen. Do you think your front end would be compatible? And also, if you don't mind, do you have any details of the interface between your Arduino kit and your ECU. Was it relatively simple to integrate the electric window controls?

I'm sorry about all the questions, and thanks in advance.

Hi there, loving your work on this.

I'm looking at doing a similar project in my MK4 Golf, only instead of the tablet I'm going to use a single board arduino compatible system running Andriod. How easy was it to to interface the Arduino kit to your ECU?
