Building an Android frontend
I know it's been a while since I've done anything with this, but it's not dead. I've been working on the hardware side of things and been holding off on the software. I've come a long way and plan to get back into the Android side soon.

*Jan 1 Update*
I have added an auto updater portion to this. I am getting a lot of crash reports from people using old and outdated APKs, so now when I push a new one, it should auto update.
I haven't given up on this. Every time somebody uses my app and it crashes (which seems like a lot...) I do log the crash and am working on fixing it. But my main issue right now is my hardware. I have bought a UDOO board (embedded Android/Arduino board) and it looks great, but I'm having some major issues and am waiting on a fix before I can really get back into the code.
I have been working on a full hardware solution for my car. The basics of my plan is this. I have a Nexus 7 that will be mounted in the dash, connected via a custom Arduino based hardware board, that interacts with the windows, seat heaters, air suspension etc...
I have been working on the whole project for a little over three years. So far the front end has built in music capabilities, basic maps and driving directions, some bluetooth support (still very buggy) and a lot of things that will probably only be useful for myself, however a lot of it is pretty ingrained in the code. That being said, I'm working on making the whole project more modular every day.
I don't know if there is any community interest in this or not, like I said it started for personal use. If there is interest I will happily put the code up on Github and get input from the community. However, like most open source projects personal support will be minimal.
The entire project is still under heavy development and has a long way to go. I know there is a lot of bugs still to be ironed out, and maybe the community is willing to help with that as well.
Some screen shots are attached.
