Hello, I registered specifically because of this thread. This is exactly what I was looking for as an in car entertainment solution.

I was messing around with the 0.2 alpha, but after the app was moved into the playstore I've had trouble getting it. I'm running a generic 7 inch 4.2.2 tablet and the play store testing link is broken for me. When I access the playstore through my PC and go to the APP page it will say that my device is not compatible, I ran the 0.2 release pretty well, what could be the problem? I'm so looking for checking out more recent versions.

just wondering if there will be another way for "embeding" external apps and if will be "custom build" for skins, and if actually there is a solution for the bluetooth stack issue
hope this time the project will accomplish

I've only tested this on my S4 but it looks great!
I think it'd be good to have the central logo and buttons fill more of the screen. That would make the buttons a little bigger.
Maybe an option to have 6 or 12 app buttons on the main screen (there are 12 currently), then maybe swipe to get a second main screen. Bigger buttons are easier to hit in a moving car.
I've not really tested the media player (no music on my phone) but it looks good.

For me and the way I use my RR carputer I need:
Everything should work without internet connection
    Music - over 300gig
    Pictures
    Video
    GPS - without internet connection
    FM Radio - using Boomzbox
    Joycon controls

    Optional:
Backup camera - could go with a rearview mirror display
Control over the actual backlight not just gama correction or contrast of the display. Controlled by a light sensor or dash lights.

Keep up the great work! We all appreciate the effort it takes to create.
    Thanks,
    davidk

    Hi fella,

It would take just a couple of lines to turn it into a launcher but I think most prefer it as an app I think. I don't think you can make it a choice either in the settings due to this line being in the manifest rather than the java bit.

However, if that's what everyone wants then I can do it.

Thanks for the kind comments and ideas :-) I do intend to add some night / day settings, just not figured out which way to go yet. Still lots to do :-)

O, I've just uploaded a new version 1.05 which will be available soon.

am currently trying it out on my phone, and it works like a charm , cant wait for embedded navigation (of users choice) in my case it would be sygic.
    and the integration of torque.

The music player works very well.

currently have tasker set up to start wifi/bt etc when power connected , also launches this app , when power not connected it kills the app , works perfectly

It says that it's not compatible with my generic 7 inch tablet running android 4.2. I ran the 0.2 APK before it was moved to the play store testing, I joined the program and when I try to download it it says that it's not compatible with my tablet, can this restriction be lifted? I'm running tasker and torque perfectly.

does your generic tablet have gps? if it doesn't it could be the reason it says not compatible, perhaps the newer version of the app requires gps, or something else your generic tablet doesn't have
