You were in the group "active users". I switched you over to "registered users" where the majority of people are. See if you can rep now.

I'm assuming I should have the little scale icon under the user info next to each user's post.
I have that icon only on my posts, which allows me to see my own rep level.
The scale icon is not present on posts by any user except myself.

I know I've had my beefs with the management, but this is hardly fair!
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

You and I both know that the first rule of rep club is not to talk about rep club.
Tell me why I shouldn't report you, Enforcer?

Besides... You know I was against the hole rep idea from the beginning because I knew that it would be abused bu the MT crew.
He fact that the rep club members give rep to every post they can for every member of the rep club skews the rep given to users with more honest and genuine intent. You have a full bar of green under your name not because people believe you're contributing positively to the community, but because you are allied with a group that pats each other on the back in this way.
The rep club makes the whole forum rep concept completely meaningless, at least on these forums.

Personally, I don't give a tinker's damn about how many green blocks are under my name. My contribution to this community is apparent, and always will be.

BTW - Bugbyte. I don't know what you did, but the situation is resolved now. Thanks.

The thing is DP, you never really understood the reason for Rep club, and by the looks of that post you still don't.

I suspect there will be little or no repeat of the abuse that was encountered the last time it was enabled. (although I can't gurantee it).

Not entirely true, it was no secret who was in the club and it very easy to see whose rep is over inflated (mine for one) so unless someone is very very helpful and ends up with loads and loads of danglies and gets mistaken for a rep club member it won't have much effect.

    :.PS have a dangly

The idea, though is that the helpful members will get lots of rep. That's what will separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.
Granted, when the rep system is new and fresh, it's easy to differentiate. However, it doesn't take long for active, helpful users to accumulate lots of rep. A few months to a year, perhaps.

So then what? How is Joe Newbie going to know the difference between someone who is genuinely helpful and someone who's just dicking around?
