Ha, anyway since all of my posts are biased and based off hatred of my iPhone 3G, maybe I'll go by the apple store and play with the iFad myself to see if it's really just a big iPhone or if it's actually something else. . .

I agree with every last comment you have made, but you already knew that.

If you have already played with an iPhone, then you pretty much have the feel for the glorified PDA known as the iPad. Infact when I see it it makes me think of a PDA for old people. You know how when Grandma got older you had to go out and buy her a phone with the big massive buttons so she can dial. They even have a cell phone like that called GitterBug (good I hate their commercials), maybe the iPad is the "hey im to blind to see my phone so I need a big gaint version to see it" device?

By that logic you see no difference watching the game on a 15" or 52" TV. Both do the same thing, right?

Except on my TV I can watch whatever game I want and on Apple's TV you can only watch the one game that Apple allows you to watch and you'll be paying $6.99 for it.

LOL. Interesting analogy considering I only get a few select NFL games and often can't see the ones I want unless I pay $180 for an additional package. You don't get something for nothing... ever (traditional carPC, iPad, life).

Don't me wrong, I wish Apple's platform was more open, too. But at least give some credit that they put out a great piece of hardware. It's fast, incredibly packaged, and has expanding capabilities by the day.

Bigger is always better, take that anyway you like, LOL! Honestly though as far as TVs go, as long as its HD, I dont care what size is it (well nothing below 19"). Now sports wise, it is true, OMG when I watch UFC on a big HD TV, god the details in the guys hot bodies! *Drinks glass of water to cool off*. All kidding aside, I agree, but when I make these silly comments, its geared towards car use. I just find the iPad to be way to big, and that goes for anyone that has a 10 inch screen or bigger!

I'm just saying that without internet connectivity the iPad functionality is severely crippled.
Nope, the confusion is on your end. Destinator 9 runs on the iPad and loads all the maps on the device. No need for 3G.

In addition, the 3G is not $50 a month. It was $30 a month unlimited and $15 a month limited. So, if you want to use the 3G, which you do not have to do and you do not have to sign up to a contract for, the price is competitive with pretty much any other type of device that has data access. AT&T just changed the pricing to $25 for 2 gig and $15 for 200 mb.

I've been trying out the 3G plan on my iPad and have been using it like water. It is often faster and more reliable than hotel wifi, at least in the Washington, D.C. area. I just checked my usage and I've been on the unlimited plan for 29 days and used 670mb down and 50 megs up. And I've used it a LOT.

It's okay to hate the iPad, but it is inaccurate to refer to it as a 'subscription' based device. Your cell phone, on the other hand....

Yes, I'm paying $30.00/month. Actually I paid one month, if I need, I'll pay another month, and so on. There's no contract. I actually cancelled my v3xx account that I used to have just for the carputer. I used to pay $7.99 for the phone + $15.00 unlimited 3G, so in the end I'm paying $10.00 more for the iPad...I think it's worth it, at least for me.

Also it's not only destinator. There are LOTS of options for navigation for the iPad. Like this one just released May 31st:

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ndriv...372001419?mt=8

ndrive, 2.99 for the iphone, 4.99 for the iPad, on sale now. I think it's a 1.76GB download, but I think it's worth it. More navigation apps here.
