Wow Nate, nicely done! How exactly did you mount the ipad to the GPS mount you're using? Did you alter the back of the ipad or use adhesive? I'm looking to do something similar, and I'd like to leave it as unscathed as possible.

I basically modified an iphone windshield mount and adhered a universal 3m type holder to it and the back of the Ipad. It is very strong and the part stuck to the Ipad can be removed without damage if need be in the future.

Ah... are you using that 3M double lock stuff? Definitely strong enough... I'm just a little freaked about applying anything adhesive to the back and being left with sticky residue.

Here is a video showing remote control of my Ipod using the Ipad to control it with an app called Tango Remote.

Alright, here you go. I combined two things easily obtainable from best buy. A windshield Iphone mount and a universal dash mount for Iphone. I cut the end of the windshield mount opposite the suction cup and glued one half of the universal tab mount to the modified windshield mount. Then I attached it to the stock screen area( I relocated my display to the bottom dash area) Attach the second half of the universal mount to the back of the Ipad and bingo. Obviously, your specific car may not work this way.

Note the ability to still tighten the mount to the dash if it get too loose and how easy it is to remove the Ipad from the car. It's not for everyone but I'm working on a future(cleaner)solution but it will be G8 specific.

Here is my build thread on a G8 forum: http://forum.grrrr8.net/showthread.p...gration-thread
