PS: Of course its OS is going to be faster, its made to run fast, most phone OSes are. I guess another question is do you give up power and upgradbility, or do you go with upgade lacking, non multitasking, but fast stable OS.
Lets ask VegasNate to show us some stuff. He already has it installed in his car with just a mount.

You gotta stop saying it can't multi task, you know they just figured out the right way to do it and itll be here in the fall. Yea its not running apps will nilly in the background but apple is right, why have background apps when its gonna ruin the usability of the device. I'd rather apple control it, and let my User experience be solid.

Its not really hindering at all, you metioned 14 pages back that you want Rev to continue tracking or whatever, well I looked into and their location api will allow rev to make it so their app can continue logging data in the background.

What I find tiring is people like you that think every argument on the internet is stupid. The whole reason I made the very first comment I did at the very first page of this thread was to get a grasp on what it is I'm not getting here. I feel I've done exactly that. I've provoked thought and reason, which is exactly what I wanted.
Yes but we have seen this same argument and many of the same point made on many, many other threads here. I'm not saying the argument is not warranted, but how many times? That's all. I do enjoy being enlightened on the different view points.

BTW be careful making generalized statements are about "people like me on the internet". It's condescending statements like that that starts flaming. I have no issues with constructive arguments on the internet. Just gets a bit tired when I see the same ones over and over.

For some reason this arguement never gets old. I think I have answered just about all of them too. Flaming is also fun, lol.... As long as no one takes it personal then its all good. Just adults having a awesome discussion no matter how many other versions of it there are.

Well here is part 2 of that install. They made it removable and you can't use the digital out with the Audison BitOne processor.

And here is a second car that those guys did with another iPad install as well. Same removable ipad concept.

Pretty interesting the way they did that Maxima. My Subaru doesn't have the room to run it in landscape...

I'm sorry, but if you can make over generalized statements about all the iPad vs CarPC threads, I can make over generalizations about people on the internet.

I'm 100% positive that this thread has more info in it than any of the other iPad threads I've participated in. What we need now is someone to unbiasedly sum it all up.

You're always free to choose whether or not to participate in it. Seriously, who is it hurting?

Yeah, the TV hidden behind the iPad was... odd. I think it was more of an after thought. It almost seems like it was an "I'm doing this so I can be #2 iPad installer!" situation than a really thought through install.

LOL, the videos say it all! So much work to get it installed! Also the buttons in iTunes dont look all that big! They are barely touchscreen friendly from a drivers point of view. The maxima install I just down right hate because you got a headunit, then a screen with a ipad infront of it. It looks like the iPad was just thrown into the mix. I guess I can say thats just an owners issue, lol, no type of styling, just clutter. It looks like the Maxima owner was just desperate to have an iPad in his car.

I will say the Tacoma install has put alot more effort into making it seem intergrated. I just dont like the audio setup with him having to go to the left hand side to get audio to switch and stuff, then fuss with the iPad on the right hand side.

Maybe that's the way he wants and likes it just like you have your system set up in a way that you like it, I don't think it's up to us to decide what's best for him he did it his way.

All I can say is that both installs are fine as long as they are comfortable with them to each his own, there installs are no more complicated then any other who just have carpcs unless you have a all in one indash carpc other wise all carpcs are difficult installs, installing the display to running all the wires, be it Ipad or regular carpc it all entails hacking your car up.

it is nice to see it in a vehicle and implemented you can hate the idea or not I believe it has great potential as a basic in car system.
