    iPad Jailbreak released

The jailbreak for iPad has been released.

It works very easily but I did have it hang at the Apple logo at first. I thought I might have to restore the original operating system but tried re-breaking, then some rebooting and it is working now. I'll report back if there are any issues with stability or operation.

Me too. I also registered my SHSH ID so I can downgrade if I ever need to.

Guess this is good news then. I tried to buy a 3G last Sunday, but they had run out of it.

    Maybe it was a sign...LOL

Hmm. Good point. Does it? I always think of the rule as one that is intended to protect mp3car as they could find themselves involved in some sort of legal action.

    The rule reads:

    5. Illegal activities

mp3car.com will not tolerate any use of the forums to facilitate any illegal activities. Links to websites that share illegal software, music, movies, or other data are not permitted. Links to private FTP sites with illegal content are also not permitted. Discussions on how to circumvent software registration & activation, workarounds for software copy-protection, hardware hacks to bypass safety features and other discussions of obviously illegal activity will not be permitted.

I'll remove the link. I'm putting up a poll to see if others agree. If so, I'll award myself an infraction.

There have been many discussions weather jailbreaking is "illegal". There is nothing that states that you have to use the device as apple intends, the only reasoning people have is that apple keeps removing or blocking the jailbreaks therefore it must be forbidden. But nothing states that you can't do it. Therefore not illegal, therefore, link is a go.

Way I see it, if I were to spend eight hundred bucks buying some hardware, I'm free to modify it so it does what I want. Definitely not illegal
