some bad news.... our mac mini(s) are dead... not sure exactly what happened... we put it into our car powered up no problem! ... then we turned the car off cleaned up and wanted to fire it up again to giggle some more and it wouldn't turn on... took it inside hooked it up to actually wall power and it doesn't turn on at all.. all we get is a suddle high pitched noise coming from the power supply (can't be good :|) so we went out and bought another mac mini haha and the same thing happened! it powered up once then after that dead.. and that same high pitched noise from the pSU which is weird because we didn't mod the PSU. Thats what you get when a software company tries its luck at hardward haha. So later we found a MacMini A1283 and will be installing that once our carnetix macpac cable comes so its going to be a bit longer for the software as well now as we spent $1500 that went down the drain haha. The ipad beta is almost done (that will continue as schedule) we are just fighting with the apple frameworks to make sure that everything is "legal" so that we can release it to the app store... Also with the iPad beta we are going to have to release it on the App Store. If we dont each one of you who wants in on the iPad Beta would need to download the iPhone SDk and give us their ipad ID number so we can create a provisioning profile for it... (way to much headache).

    Thanks,
    Dave

I've done beta testing in the past and what the developers did was actually email us the .ipa, then we dragged it onto the Apps folder in iTunes, and sync it as usual, it was quick and effective. This way, they bypassed the wait period of Apple approval.

You can use the mp3car app store for the beta, I'm sure.

Just had a quick p2140 question for all of you who have it installed. You changed the output power jumper to 12v right? Ours out of the box was set to 18v... Maybe this is why we fried the other one?

The old style Mini requires 18 volts. No idea what the new style requires.

But yeah, that would explain the behavior! :-P

Ouch! That was an expensive set of mistakes!

Note to self: Do NOT let programmers near the hardware.
