1) For a lot of people 1 DIN is a pro
2) Where do you get the info that you cannot control the phone from the touchscreen?
The site specifically states:
Quote:
Its patented technologies enable the user to control all standard car stereo functions using the iPhone touch screen, while allowing horizontal and vertical access, so that all iPhone applications may be used in the car: Listen to your entire iTunes music catalog, make a hands-free phone call or synch a Bluetooth headset, access your favorite iPhone apps for the car (GPS, Pandora, etc.), or listen to your favorite hometown channel on internet radio.
I have a carputer in my car but lately have been thinking of ripping it all out and just putting in an iPad which will do everything my current carputer does, plus it will hav ebuilt in internet which is a big plus. :)
Over the past year I have replaced a power supply and 3 hard drives (2 of them Solid state drives!) and now when my PC gets hot it just keeps rebooting itself. As I said I am getting ready to rip it all out.
I am interested in your project and do hope we see it released. :)
Any updates on this project?
Check out ICE Tunes on the app store. By the makers of ICE3 FE for the Mac. It's in version one right now.
Sorry to leave you guys hanging so long. I've been working on this as much as I can in my spare time. I will be posting some updates and screenshots of what I've been working on, but that will come later, as I'm currently working and don't have access to that computer.
I can tell you, I'm almost finished with the way it will handle playlists and other media features, as well as gesture controls. I'm also working on a feature that I'd rather wait til people are able to beta test it, to see for themselves and see if it will be something useful.
I'm still wanting to look into having the iPad communicate with a sheeva plug so that I can have it gather all the data and send it to the iPad.
Hopefully, I will have some time this evening so that I can get screenshots up here.
Cool, can't wait!
I just want to finish a couple screen shots, and I will upload them probably this evening.

Also, I'm in talks with a Speech recognition company to get access to there SDK, so that I can build some voice commands into the app as well.
