I'm glad you asked that mreish, I would like to know why he thinks its dead as well.

aychamo - I don't understand why you are continuing to visit this thread if you think its dead. If I didn't have an idea or app, why would I keep coming back and asking for the groups involvement?

To make those of you (who are interested) aware, I'm in the process of getting this project submitted to Kickstarter, so that I can get some of the funding behind some of the app development as well as manufacturing of the computer component that will be an accessory to help you communicate with your vehicle. I will post the link once its approved by Kickstarter.

Oh wow! Please let me send you some money on kickstater for a 2-3 year vapor ware project that has one crummy screenshot so far!

Not much action happening on this thread lately. I can relate to a project like this taking some time... but wow this one has been going for what looks like a long long while... I def. hope to have something up and going before too much longer. Finally got an iOS serial cable and put in some time to make the iPad talk to my PIC16F887 micro processor!

Sounds cool jlind54. This project has been taking time, but there was some time in there that I stepped away due to personal reasons, but am working closely with my designer to get the right feel for an in car experience. I've tested multiple mock ups he's given me and I am liking the most recent one. I'm implementing it into my code, so hopefully soon I will have a screenshot to show, and possibly a video.

When are you going to admit that you don't have a project? Over two years and nothing but a very lame mockup. Where's the kickstarter project? Where's these screenshots from your designer? A front end isn't that complicated. I did (likely the best) one in a month or so while I was in medical school.

Well, I guess I put myself in the position of people thinking I'm not progressing with this project. I can say I am, but not at a pace I would like. This is one of the mockups I've had put together, but I'm not ready to show others yet. I am only showing the one screen for now as I don't yet like the actual functionality, so the design on those keep changing.

One of the main reasons this was delayed, is I was originally working on a way to skin it with remote assets that could be downloaded, but I want the app to have a certain flow to it. When the time comes I will allow people to submit there ideas and I will have my designer take the ideas and work it in for better UX if he sees it needs it.

Please bear with me on this project, I have normally a 10 to 12 hour work day, so trying to fit time in for the wife and puppy, and get working on this isn't much time per week to do much.

Thank you to all of those who have stuck around, I will try my best to have something before the end of the year, if not sooner for beta testing.

Now after seeing a video about the Tesla Model S dashboard, its making me re-think how to display certain things, for ease of use.

Whoever did the mockup has very nice design skills, but it would be completely unusable. I guess it doesn't matter as it will never be implemented. So much for that kickstarted project, eh? 2+ years and only a couple of throwaway mockups. Vaporware + epic troll.
