    2007 STi iPad Install

First post here, but have been reading on and off for years. Finally decided to register and get a bit more involved with the iPad community. I followed jr4284's progress over on NASIOC with his iPad bezel and just got it installed the other day. While awaiting the part I built up the front end of the system which now looks like this:

Justin has gone from iPad to amplifier whereas I still use a conventional head unit.

Here are some pictures of the completed install:

    It looks great!!

What's the iRTx? Did you put the Valetine one in the grille? Does it show notifications on the iPad? What the reasoning behind connecting the iPhone into the iPad via wifi?

    Great pictures, thanks!

iRTx is from RadarActive and interfaces from V1 to their free iOS app. It puts the V1 display on your iPhone/iPad and gives you alerts for speed cameras, speed traps, red-light cameras and also keeps track of past alerts; yours and those of other users. It also has moving map, live traffic, speed and iPod control.

I have my V1 mounted above the rearview. When RadarActive runs it goes dark and just beeps.

iPhone is sharing its 3G connection with the iPad over wifi.

Very cool! I want this. Just checked the website, http://radaractive.com/early-adopters; got to buy the Valentine one first (I was leaning escort...)

You have to change the parameters of the Kiwi. There are some instructions posted here by jr4284. It only works with Rev 2 as the DashCommand folks haven't coded in a way to grab a non-standard IP address.
