    My own forum section!

MP3car.com thought it would be cool to give me my own section to answer you guys and gals questions about fabrication and anything else you may need.

Just to help you on some ideas: "Hey Cabe, where can I get really cool and cheap actuators?"

"Hey Cabe, what materials do I need to fabricate my dash and where can I get them?"

"Hey Cabe, I have no idea what I'm doing but heres a pic (example pic) of what I want, is it possible and how?"

Get the idea? Please make sure you post your question as a new thread. It makes it alot easier for me to see and keep everything seperated so I can send you an update if I find a better answer to your question.

I will also post pics of some projects I'm working on and no they wont always be PC's. My bread and butter is made fabricating audio systems but I am going to work on changing that with all this cool car pc stuff.

I will also be available for custom fabricating for you guys. MP3car thought you guys and gals may like having my services available to you. So if you need your dash fabricated or anything else feel free to PM me. Please dont ask for price quotes on the open forum since I wont give you one. Every car, dash and customer is unique and I dont like speaking about money in a public forum......cool?

Now, for my schedule. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays I work up by Chicago and dont get home till pretty late. I will answer what I can those nights but sometimes I am pretty tired and need my beauty sleep. On thursdays thru Sundays I'm wide open so I will answer as soon as I see the question. If somebody could tell me how to get my phone to text me when a question is posted that would be great.

Last but not least I am in the process of finding a car for the purpose of an insane build involving MP3car and all of you guys. I am building this car for SEMA next year in hopes of blowing some peoples minds and breaking some barriers. If anybody would like to be involved in this please let me know and in what way you can help.I havent decide what kind of car yet and really dont care as long as the body is straight and has little or no rust so if any of you have a car sitting at your house you dont want let me know. I may make a roadtrip with a trailer

Also, if nobody asks me a question soon I will open another account and ask myself
Google my name if you need to know who I am.

Any examples of works you've done with actuators? Looking to start messing around with some electromechanical devices myself.

I will dig around and see if I have any pics showing the actuators but I doubt I have any. I'm one of those guys that doesnt back up anything and when my computer crashed in California I only lost about 30 gigs of my photos.

What are you looking at doing?

if you still have that drive, and it isn't physically damaged, i can get your files back for you.

I met you @ this weekends mid-Atlantic meet.
I was the one who asked you the question about bridging my amp.

thats the problem, i have no idea what i wanna do. I always want to control mechanical devices using some sort of microcontrollers. Thats why i asked for pictures, because it'll give me some idea what i could do.

Well you can make anything move. The easiest is your stock motor controled options in your car like windows, sunroof, locks, etc. As far as add on motorization the coolest trend in a car right now is having your LCD or LCD's motorize out and then disappear. Not like a flipout but out of the top of your dash or the back of your seats and in the trunk. Or the unsexy thing is using controllers to open and close vents for custom cooling in the trunk. Have your system set up to monitor the temp. in the trunk and have multiple fans mounted and exposed to the outside of the car in the spare tire well or fender wells. Then have the temp. sensor regulate the speed and direction of the fans and also open and closing the vents to allow more or less air flow in.

There are a million things you can do. If you have never done any motorization before start by building simple tracks and stops in your garage moving little things and practicing. There is alot that goes into it to make it look simple.
