New Project....Dash Bezel

Well its Sunday at 10:30am and I need to get this bezel done for a customer so I figured I would go ahead and post it in real time as I go. Its a 2001 chevy s10 ZR2 dash. I need to fit a single din headunit and 8" lilliput touchscreen and a half din eq. The heating controls are being relocated after I finish this. I will be removing the two vents at the top for the headunit since its an s10 the vents on the side are more than enough for that truck. Anyway.......here I go.

Well its 12:13pm and heres where I'm at. I lost a half an hour to go get some cigarettes

Eq is at the bottom and 8" is above. The din opening is at the top. Time to bust out some chemicals and gloves!!

Ok its 1:33pm and got the first coats of filler on. Time to take lunch!

Ok now its 2:55, had my lunch and just shot a coat of primer so I can see all the cracks and imperfections so they can be filled.

4:16pm and almost done. I'm getting bored really. Wanna go in and play XBOX LOL!!!!! After this dries I am going to mount the screen and eq as a test fit and thats it. Since today is Sunday I cant get my color match and texture. I know it still has a couple lines in it and a few hard lines I need to sand down but thats 10min of work and figure I will do it when I have my texture and paint. It doesnt matter anyway, customer isn't bringing his truck back till next weekend. Just figured I would show you guys what I did today.

Haha, I hate getting to the point in a project near the end where ya just want to put it aside and go do something FUN. As always, you do very nice work. One of these days I need to figure out how to do that sort of thing.

I would have eliminated the monitor buttons so there would not be that many buttons at the bottom - seams crowded.

All right its 4:42pm and I am done for the day. When I get the texture and paint I will wet sand everything down and smooth any hardlines but now its time to clean up and go play call of duty. Later

And yes, I caught that Saturday mistake........It sucks though. Now I feel like I lost a day!

WOW.....I just looked at the pics and I am messy!!!! thats pretty embarrasing

Why is it so messy? Weird, oh well, I am going to blame all my mispellings and wrong days due to Sudafed. Not feeling well today but figured I would post this stuff up in case it helps anybody out.

And to the comment about the buttons. I wanted to but its a flat ribbon cable going to the board and I have know idea where to buy an extension for that. If you know please tell me for future installs. I agree it would have looked nicer without and it would have been way easier.
