you have to set the app to "donate" instead of "free", that gives the user the option of donating
Is there a way to have a donation button listed with your app? Or an optional price? Something so users can donate if they want but without being forced into it....

Correct. When you choose the payment category for your app, if you choose donate, then it will show up ad donate. When a user wishes to download such an app, they are prompted if they would like to donate or not. If they hit no, they get a download. If they hit yes, they are taken to the payment screen where you add a donation. then they get to download the app.
I get a server error when I try to do that... and is it donate instead of free as in you can't select both? Shouldn't those be radio buttons then, not checkboxes?

Yea, they should be. It doesn't hurt the system to check more than one though, it will perform donate actions as long as donate is checked.
Lets see what error your getting, is this when updating OM?
Im able to switch from donate to free without any errors for OM.
Can you provide any additional info on the error?
did you change something? lol it works fine now... I was definitely getting an empty array error before. One more thing, can you make the application listings on the statistics page hyperlink to the edit app page? it seems to take too many clicks to get to that screen.
