    Troubles using AP 1.31 in Windows

    Im having problem getting the video thingy to work in windows (worked excellent in windowsXP) Doesnt work in 98SE nor WinME ...

    Anyone? Iwe installed, DirectX, All the Codecs I could come up with.....

    heh, now I cant run AP at all... When it tries to start up winamp (along with the actual Autoplay software. It crashes.... with an error:

    WINAMP

    WINAMP caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 016kbff644df ....



    My hardware is:

    Shuttle SV25
    with Nvidia GF4 MX420 PCI graphics....

    ugh.... sounds like your OS is a bit dodgy..... can you run winamp on its own??? It really sounds like winamp is faulting on a bad kernel32.dll (possibly a corrupt copy?)


    I run my software in windows98 in the car and of course it works fine one thing to note, in doing the whole 'cutdown' 98lite windows, you MUST have the 'Active Movie' component installed in windows98 otherwise video playback will not load, and will most likely crash with a runtime error (this is what I got anyway)..... that may explain your original problem....

    aahhh.. super

    I got a runtime error earlier .. thats correct...

    It prob. just my OS that craps it up...

    Ill reinstall it now.. and a little off topic.. does anyone know if the Windows98SE supports hibernation?

    I think it will only hibernate if you have hardware hibernate.. I don't think it will work software wise.

    correct.... but the word you are looking for is 'standby'... hibernation differs from the fact that its a software based 'standby' by dumping the contents of RAM to your HDD...

    yup .. my problem was solved.. reinstalled WindowsXP .. works like a charm ...

    anyway...

    why is it, that.. when I put my computer into hibernation ... (and autoplay is running) craps out when resuming from hibernation?


    wich mode to use? ... hibernation or standby ?

    hibernation = no power usage <-- am I right?

    standby = how much power usage... considering its a VIA800Mhz ? roughly ...

    I know this is a fairly old thread BUT..

    What componant is this part of as I cant see it in the windows add / remove menu?

    And i am recieving the same 'runtime error 6 overflow' error with the latest version of AP, I have just rebuilt the machine and presume it is this that i am missing.
    Audio:Pioneer KEH P6900R, CD multi Changer, CD-RB20 Aux input adapter.
    System:AMD550, 192 Ram, 13Gb HDD, Via Micro ATX, o/b Sound, 32Mb G/c, T/screen In-Dash 7" LCD VGA, IrMan, 120w inverter.
    O/s:Windows 98lite
    Software:MediaEngine 1.7.7
