    Playlistbuild.exe problem

This may have been discussed before but I couldn't find anything on it so... here it is. My mp3 directory structure is like this (for those mp3's I have sorted into albums):

    Artist>Album Name>Mp3's here

In the unsorted albums I have

    Artist>Mp3's here

When I run playlistbuild.exe it only builds playlists of the ones in the second format. Is this normal or am I missing something here.

BTW magnetik nice prog. I was a Media Engine advocate for a while, and while a great prog as well, I've crossed the fence to the Autoplay side

heheheeh..... thanks.... tho, im not trying to start an "us/them" style situation with AutoPlay and Media Engine - CarComp and the boyz working on ME are top bunch, and CarComp has even given code chunks in the past to help me out with AP...

all in all, its good since it gives ppl here a choice that is free to use... helps bounce round ideas, and makes the task of ppl building mp3car systems that little bit eaiser. at the end of the day, I wrote AP for me and my needs - but I am amazed at the sheer amount of positive feedback and input I have got from ppl here and on email - so I muat be doing something right

... anyway, back to your issue.... im soonish gonna start work on 'nested' playlists, like what you want... I am finding the need myself, having to currently scroll thru 30-40 mp3 folders to find the album/playlist I wanna listen too.... so some folder "grouping" would be a very 'nice to have' so hang tight

also having just installed a new EPIA 800 mobo I am finding that some of the GFX routines are a bit slow with its on-board video card... so I am moving from using BitBlt routines (slow) to DirectX 7 Directdraw code (fast!).... giving the whole AP a bit of a overhaul...

so all in all, the 'to-do' list is still a lengthy one but its fun regardless

mp3car system is currently FUBAR and finances do not allow for a correction of that situation

I wasn't trying to imply that

I just like the whole feel of Autoplay. The fact that it looks better on my 7" composite input screen is just another plus.

It'll be difficult for me to justify using it pretty soon, though, as I'm hoping to have a touch overlay sometime in the near future. Have you considered touch controls for Autoplay? I realize it's your project and suited to your needs... just asking (read psuedo-begging ).

ShinkunoNamida - cheers mate... as another person in the 'mile high club' (1000+ posts) your respects means alot

monger - I would love to tell you next week.... but sadly work has been flat out... plus after using the parts from my old mp3car sytem (still shown on my website) for my G/F's new PC (xmas pressie!) my #1 'spare time' priority was getting my EPIA 800 and DC-DC installed, which is now done... dont worry, I should have a new version out by the months end.... at the least, this project aint no-where near dead yet!!!!

ddt - I know.. just jokin ugh, touchscreen!!! your talking to a guy who hates smudges on his car windows... the idea of fingerprints on a TFT gives me the shivers seriously, touchscreen would be a long way off it at all.... the IRman/keypad type of control is where I am heading at the moment..
    Project - GAME OVER :(
