Crowd sourcing reveals worst traffic in the United States

TomTom and TeleAtlas use their crowd sourced contributors to plot worst congestion in the United States.
Congestion is considered traffic that is 70% or less of the posted speed limit.

I have been a long time user of AVG Pro, but I am looking to try something new on my new laptop. The reason being that when AVG scans, it really slows down my computer causing lagging performance during the 2 hour or so scan.

Is there anything out there that is not such a resource hog during scanning?
