Really informative post. Like this post, it's disturbing but very informative. I'm really glad Feministe provides a platform for important discussions like this

ipad mediaCool. I would like to share the video... :-)I'll agree that it's more of an "out of the box CarPC" idea than piecing together something, but it's still a PC-like-device, and it's in the car. It's like buying a G4 or whatever those things were. It's a pre-built ready made solution for those that want it.
Clearly you have no idea what automotive computing is all about. An ITX board stuffed in a double din behind a 7" display was the natural evolution of the CarPC. I've been doing this hobby for almost 14 years now and have seen more than most, save the oldest members. I remember loads of setups running DOS and Cobra or MPXplay... yes that was automotive computing. I remember character LCDs all over the place... VFD was really where it was at. I don't think you've been in the hobby long enough...
Now you come along saying that putting a full blown computer with a touch screen display in your ride isn't automotive computing... clearly your expertise shot a little low. This does however peak my interest. What, then, in your opinion is automotive computing all about?
