The CEO of Raysat/Cruisecast (AT&T partnership) gave us a 20 minute technical explanation on the satellite, antennas, transponders, compression and how they have made CruiseCast “cruise” . mine may have been one of the first windows based desktop pc installs back in 95-96, but hardly the first computer install. wish there was an mp3car.com back then,but then again, back then I don't think I even knew what an mp3 was
I guess it depends on your definition of "car PC" I'm sure Nasa put some form of ginormous calculator to run its radar trucks in the 60s... and then there's the Soviet Missile launchers that had computational equipment on them even earlier...

Nobody thought of playing pong on a TRS80 while cruising down the road back then I guess...
