Gartner's new report shows location based services (LBS) subscribers and revenue are on pace to double in 2009. " LBS subscribers are forecast to grow from 41.0 million in 2008 to 95.7 million in 2009 while revenue is anticipated to increase from $998.3 million in 2008 to $2.2 billion in 2009"

This hopefully means a lot more mass market technology will be able to leveraged for use in our mobile computing mash ups that happens in our forums. how do you think this explosion of services and users will impact the stuff our community has been doing? Will there be more tools and APIs for developers or are all these LBSs goign to be locked down to specific devices or carriers? Talk about this on our forums here.
