Well, like iBug said, I'd also like a feature in which you tell a program like Centrafuse or Frodo, "up, down, play, search". I didn't quite understand your detailing on that, sorry...

You will be able to pick individual windows, and send keys to that window only like "up" to notepad. If you wanted to send "hello world!" to frodo, you could.

There will also be premade commands like pausing winamp or frodoplayer. That way every person doesn't have to make custom window commands for the same program.

    so in recap...

built in support for winamp, frodo, and RR.

ability to communicate with individual programs without sending global keypreses.

The problem with that is, it would be hard to send key commands if you are holding down a key.

For my personal use, I will have a button on my steering wheel that is connected via COM or LPT and recognition will only be active when that button is pressed. The button will also mute music. I don't know how practical that would be for the public version of the program.

Now I remember fixing that bug with the multiple key presses. Brain Fart!
I am pretty sure that 3 modifiers won't work though...
If there is a need I could fix it.

    Thanks for the imput.
    Back to writing a speech...
Why not have it so you press a key (not hold it down), it pauses winamp/windows media and then starts recognizing and gives you a few seconds to say what you need to say? I would assign this to one of the buttons on my shuttlexpress. my main problem with navivoice is it always gets activated by my music(my mic sucks, but works fine when no music is playing)

    I never thought of that....

Ok.. so a key (that can be configured) as the master key.
The key pauses the application of your choice (winamp, frodo, RR) and executes a BSR command that does anything else you want it to do.

It then activates recognition.. and when a command is recognized, or there are three false recognitions, the music is un-paused, and another optional command is run.

    I like it!

    My wishlist:

Can you make this "activate recognition" as customisable as possible. I think each CarPC will have a different setup so not everyone will have keyboard/mice at hand while driving. Same with deactivation, I'd like to be able to configure the timeout and/or a different keypress.

My ideal configuration for this would to allow the user to chose which is the best way to active BSR, one of the following:
    1. Press a mouse (right/middle click or scroll wheel)
    2. Press a screen button in RR or FP. I'll create a plugin for RR if this is implemented
    3. Press a keyboard button

I'd like to be able to choose between these 3 options and also set the exact keypress/mouse click in the settings. Also set the timeout for pausing the music in the settings file after activation.

Deactivation, I'll like to be able to choose from these in the settings file:
    1. timeout to deactivate
    2. keypress
    3. mouse click (right/middle click or scroll wheel)
    4. RR or FP button to deactivate.

Fonally, on some command it would be useful to have a dialog box pop up to give a response (either as text or speech) and then give focus back to the original app. I'd prefer a text box poping to the front to say that the certain commands were recognised (not every command). With each command I'd like to be able to set the response, for example in the vocab files:

    [Independent]
    play music=(alt)p|TextResponse="Playing Music"
shutdown=(alt)x|VoiceResponse="Powering Down do not forget the inverter!"

I like some of these ideas. I'll take a look at everything, and come up with a plan. I'll share it in this thread before actually coding. I don't want to code a feature that no one will find useful.
