Registration prompted when updating 1.1.0.9a-1.1.1.6 under Vista

What version of StreetDeck is this bug report for?

    1.1.0.9a-1.1.1.6

Please give a basic description of the issue here.

SD asks for registration when using these updates and provides different machine/check code

Is the systemt that is listed in your CarPC specs under your user name the same system where you encountered this bug?

    No

If no, please describe your system here.

    Hp laptop
    OS: Vista Home Premium
    Hard drives: 2x 120GB internal

Please provide any relevent information regarding the issue you have encountered.

So I've searched up and down in the forums with no avail. I had just transfered my SD to a Vista OS notebook and have received the activation codes. I understand that the registration requires the machine/check code that is tied to the harddrive. Also I've made it a point to keep all relevant files on the primary harddrive (i.e. files located in program files and my documents), and only resoucing media from the 2nd drive. Although upon setting up SD on my Vista notebook and updating to the latest update SD asks for the registration activation code while the machine/check code had changed from what was initally given. Also certain digital mods are unavailable to use without updates that I cannot access.

When I run into this problem I attempted to restore to a previous update (ver. 1.0.6.3) and I was able to use SD freely without having to activate under the changed codes. I've attempted to obtain all of the updates available from 1.0.6.3-1.1.1.6 to see where the problem lies, updating SD to the most current update sequentially. I have found that whenever I update above 1.1.0.0 (specifically 1.1.0.9a, 1.1.1.0, and 1.1.1.6) the codes change and the activation is required. Then I just revert back to 1.1.0.0 and I dont run into any activation requests. I have also tried the different ways to update, i.e. directly running the file or dropping the file into SD.

I would send in for a request to obtain the registration codes with the changed machine/check codes but it may be considered a transfer, and since I am only allowed a number of transfers I want to keep those options open. And since no hardware changes have occured, the problem lies within the software updates. Also I would hate for this to happen again given another update causes the same problem.

Any help or input on this problem would be greatly appreaciated.

It appears to be reading your check codes fine. I don't know why the validation is failing.

Please e-mail the machine and check code as well as the registration code you were given for them to chuck@mp3car.com.

I was interested to find that in the bug report prior to installing the updates in question, the log states that the request for the Drive's serial number could not be obtained. Although the update was sucessfull at obtaing the serial number.

Any update or advice on this particular issue would be greatly appreaciated. Am I able to submit a transfer registration without fear of it affecting the amount of transfers I am allowed?
