With the carPC you'll have to control it through the faceplate sized controller. No way around that. Certain HU's have the controller circuitry built in, but are kind of a waste if you have the carPC.

Do you mean audio from the PC to the HU? You can run an analog line out from the PC to the HU's aux input, but the SQ goes down. Most folks that run a PC don't run a HU and vice versa.
well basically I want to have a HU and the PC.. I want the HU to control just the volume of the PC.I want to be able to switch from HU to PC. Is that possible.

Sorry if that was confusing. I think I clicked on the wrong user manual.

Yes, but I don't think there is a way to digitally have the HU accept audio from the PC. Maybe the new ones can, I don't know. I do know that the HU's almost always have an aux stereo input so you can run a cable (probably a double ended headphone jack) form the sound card out to the HU aux in. The HU and H701 brain would work like Alpine intended and to get the PC sound you would select the aux input on the HU. You know, go from CD to radio to input 1 or whatever and BAM, music. I think Alpine also lets you set the volume level for each source so it will match up when you switch over. So you'd set you PC volume to max (as long as it doesn't clip) and leave it there.

If you run a good sound card the sound quality will be good, although not quite as good as the digital signal. There is a PCI sound card for about $25 that has excellent SQ. I can tell you all about it if you want.

Does that sound like what you want?

Well i was thinkg about getting the Auzentech x-Meridian Sound Card and connect the sound card to the h701 via Optical. But i guess that wont work rite! I have to go from the sound card to the AUX on the HU

ready2play, I'm giving up on the red h700 hunt. I can't find anything. The buttons can be done, no problem, but the display is harder. I don't know what is creating the blue color. If it's a film in the display then it can be changed, if it's a blue back light, then that can be changed, but if it's a blue LCD of some kind, then your stuck with that.

If it's any consolation, it's not really a blue screen. It's more a white with some blue mixed in. You can also change the contrast on it and I think that can make it more white. I'll have to get back to you on that.
