I guess a clear celophane may do the trick if it stays bright enough after being covered with it...... these displays are pretty bright so it may not be so bad.... only one way to find out

I had a switch rigged to the usb soundcard(a turtle beach roadie)... when it was turned on, the sound was the pc, when off it would switch back to the ai-net input automatically... as soon as the light goes out on the fiber optic it switches back...

once in a great while it would not switch when the toslink went out, I then had to switch sources & it switches right away...

I have 5 different sources to select from, the pc is just one of them.... switching is easy & no problem....

The PCI sound card should have an optical output to the H700 brain. The Optical version of the SPDIF signal is called a Toslink connection. Fiber optic, optical, all the same.

Well, I have steady hands...I used to do body piercings. But doing that over here in the sand wouldn't be a safe bet, lol.

all you have to do is break the lightbeam in the fiberoptic link.... the souncard doesn't have to go on & off...

there are even switches for fiber optic... if switched from a-b, & b has nothing... then it's off...

I designed a gate that turned it on & off like a relay, but haven't built it yet...

basicly the light beam has to be broken...

if your head also has a fiber optic out then you could use it too & just switch back & forth... there are switches for this, but there huge.... I also built one that was tiny & again worked kinda like a relay... if anyone needs these designs or wants to build something like this for there car let me know..

yeah, bro, those dial switches ar monsterous... the problem is any light from the adjacent signal would be a bad thing, but there are much better & more compact ways of doing this than what I've seen....
