A lot of people would like to get their hands on that. A few would be Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc...
It's like a trade secret so I doubt your gonna find it. Good luck though.

Have you looked on the circuit board for any leaking capacitors, burned traces, cracked solder, etc...?

Have you tried another AI-net cable?

    Tried a different Alpine HU?

Does it do it when your playing a disc and using a optical cable?

    Hi there!

I'm about to buy pxa-h701 but with no cables at all

I've recently read manual and started browsing for some wires. So as far as I understood there're 2 types of connection to HU: digital and analog.

Digital one is better I suppose but I couldn't find this Head unit input terminal (optical digital input). It would be great if you can show me where I can buy it online

Is this one will work as analog?

Looking forward to hearing from you, guys!

Is your music coming from a PC? If so, then definetly get a sound card with an optical output. Then buy a common optical cable used in home audio.

The 700/701 has RCA inputs for an analog signal so there's no need for any fancy cable.

Are you buying the RUX controller?

Wait, did you register at a car-puter forum to ask about using a hu (head unit) with the 701?
If so, what hu are you using?
If it's a compatible Alpine, then you will definetly want to use the AI-net cable. It transfers both a 2 channel analog signal as well as communicates with the 701.

If your hu has an optical output, then you can also get the optical cable, but keep in mind that the optical cable is only turned on for CD/DVD's.

JasonWW, thanks a lot for reply mate.

So, here's a little explanation I've been dreaming of a big sound system in my car. By saying BIG I mean pure, clean sound but not just loud (as you know a lot of guys just put subwoofer and 2 satellites and here we go, disco-on-wheels). At this point I started to read bout car audio and registered here cause I suppose that I'll have further questions in this area.

    1) I won't buy RUX cause it's kinda retarded I was thinking about something newer maybe something like CDA-105 or iDA-X303 from here http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/ca...its-head-units

    2) I googled a little bit and got it! The HU controls 701 via AI-net cable and the audio signal goes through digital one. Am I correct?

    3) I suppose I'll need to buy an amp for this system. Your recommendations?

    BTW hello from snowy Russia

    1. Only the big touch screen HU's have full control over the 701.
The 2 head units you mentioned have only partial control so you'll have to buy the RUX controller.

The controller has a dot matrix screen that allows you to see all the adjustments. You use it to set up the speakers, x-over points, eq, etc... Then you can unplug it or tuck it out of the way. The hu volume control will raise and lower the 701's output level which really improves sound quality.

    2. There are many wires in the shielded AI- net cable. Some are for data and are digital, but the music signal is analog. It's a fairly high voltage analog and seems quite resistant to picking up electrical noise when going from the front of the car to the rear. Once in the rear you can use very short RCA cables.

The only digital music signal from the hu to the 701 is if you add an optical cable and then use the CD or DVD drive. I've turned the optical on and off and can't really hear a difference. So don't get too caught up with that aspect.

    3. Yes, then you just need some amps and speakers. You use standard RCA cables to connect the 2.

I have different experience with my H701+RUX. unit always using the input selected from RUX regardless of signal presence on any optical input. I'm using only one analogue input and one toslink both without AiNet connections. Had anyone managed to get H701 switching to optical input automatically?

    P. S. One of the local electronics gurus is doing a great H700/H701 tweak by replacing pretty average stock PCM1608 DAC to completely new output board with set of much better PCM1794 DACs and high quality opamps (OPA627). I was really impressed when heard tweaked unit. It sounds much better than stock one and even better than F1 Status processors. Going to tweak my H701 shortly.

Hi All, I'm new to the forums.

I've been reading this thread with interest, does anyone know of a H700 or H701 for sale, as I'd like to try one of these in my system.

I have a bmw with and intravee and currently have x3 KCA-420i, 2 with ipods and 1 with a modded iphone cradle, Im running an intravee switch (similar to the alpine KCA-400c), and a DAB TUA-T100 tuner.

    This is my current system.

This is what I want to do

As the PXA-H700/701 does not have an Ai-Net In/Out, I'll need to be creative with an modded Ai-Net lead.

This is a mock up of the proposed lead.

Also does anyone know if the PXA-H100 has a similar set of ai-net control functions as the H700/H701

Any help or guidance would be very welcome.
